Full disclosure: I’m not Catholic, and neither is EdThePastor [High Praise!], who sent this to me.

I’m just posting it because it’s awesome.

Oh, and it’s also available in Evangelical flavor.

  1. I am not a Catholic, either, but I watched Cardinal Dolan’s interview on “The Factor” and was impressed by his straightforward, reasoned explanation and defense of religious freedom, and the significance of the Obama Administration’s demand that Catholics be forced to pay for insurance options that run against their belief.

  2. I take the general viewpoint that religion is something personal and best kept between you and your God. This video, however, pisses me off. If I even hinted at Government interference in the Church, like the video does, then it is the most horrible violation of the First Amendment (generally true) and the offenders should kill themselves immediately.

    But!

When the Church wants to exert *its* influence over the Government then it is a matter of free speech and how dare anyone question the church’s viewpoint.

This is the most classic example of a double-standard that we have to keep the Government out of the Church but its OK to have have the Church in the Government.

No! That is f**&ed up! Church is for Churching! Government is for….. well not Churching. Keep the Government out of the Churches, but also keep the Churches out of politics!

Sorry for the rant, but this kind of BS double-standard is ok as long as it benefits me crap just pisses me off to no end.

  3. #7 – 4of7…. no script, totally free-formed that one. This particular post was at the end of a series of other input in which one side or the other was trying to have cake and eat the cake and some sort of cliche that I always get screwed up because, really, who doesn’t like pie way better than cake and if it’s your cake why can’t you eat it anyway…..

I’m sorry. What was the question?
