In the internet age, how many new business created didn’t even really need those roads and bridges?
It’s certainly not good PR for gay marriage to be associated with Chicago values.
Unless the punctuation is modifying only what’s in the quotes, the punctuation should be outside of the quotes. That’s just logical.
It’s like who came up with grammar rules weren’t computer programmers first.
Are people really going to assert that “You didn’t build that!” was a friendly message towards business creators and not a chastisement?
What I get from the left being this obsessed with small Romney gaffes is that they’re still desperate for a good angle to attack him from.
I’m only two pages into Axe Cop: President of the World and it’s already the most awesome comic book ever.
I download comic books to my iPad because I don’t want to go comic book shops since they’re full of weirdos who like comic books.
The new Axe Cop comic was insanely good. I wish I could be half as creative as Malachi Nicolle.
The “You didn’t build that!” line is being taken out of context from Obama’s peevish chastisement of successful business creators.
If you haven’t played that free to download game Slender, maybe don’t. So simple in concept, yet so incredibly creepy. I love how in the game you’re constantly sure he’s right behind you, but you absolutely don’t want to look.
A better question is, if Al Gore created the internet, then who created Al Gore?? It’s a paradox!
“Are people really going to assert that “You didn’t build that!” was a friendly message towards business creators and not a chastisement?”
No, but the part where he told business owners they aren’t smart was.
“I wish I could be half as creative as Malachi Nicolle.”
Why? Malachi Nicolle didn’t build that.
Malachi Nicolle didn’t create Axe Cop…. Local goverment provided the cops. Factory workers provided the axe.
“In the internet age, how many new business created didn’t even really need those roads and bridges?” How did people run business before the government created the internet…or before the government was building roads and bridges, like before the Civil War when they were privately funded and built? How about that first guy off of the Mayflower that started “Ye Olde Tavern”? Did he build that?
Next question. Why are so many in the media worked up about the “you didn’t build it” line being used but were just fine taking Romney’s “I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it.” and chopping it down to “I’m not concerned about the very poor.”?
Obama probably was told by Biden to go ahead and steal Lizzie Warren’s speech. “Go ahead and plagiarize; no one will ever know,” said Joe.
Mxymaster,
I’d kind of like to see us all start calling her Twinkie Warren. (see http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie_(slur) )
I do kind of like Lizzie Warren, though. It sounds like Lizzie Borden.
Zach – Might not work, since the more popular interpretation of “Twinkie” is as an Asian slur: yellow on the outside, white on the inside.
For Warren, you’d need something that was white on the outside and 1/32 red on the inside.
I’m thinking “powdered jelly donut”.
Harvey, nobody makes a snack food that is a good analogy for her. If they did, they wouldn’t stay in business very long. Probably the closest thing you might see in real life is a store that advertises jelly doughnuts but a disgruntled baker filled them with mayonaise.
