A lot of bad stuff has been in the news lately, so it’s nice to have a happy story. So, a female US navy sailor was on a bus in Dubai. And the bus driver pulled out a knife and tried to rape her. And she then pummeled the guy.
This seems like a good cultural exchange. Think of how much better Saudi Arabia would be if we had more American women pummel their rapists. And then some Saudis would be like, “Women shouldn’t do that. They must be accompanied by men and–” And then those guys objecting would get pummeled too. In fact, there is probably a lot — A LOT — of people who need to get thorough beating in Saudi Arabia to really straighten that country out, so we might as well get started. Because we care.

There are a lot of folks here in the states that could use a good punching, too. But I admire your global-equality world view on this one.

whoa. knocked any humor right out for me.
Well, he did have a knife. The fact that only traces of blood were left at the scene makes this a pretty positive story notwithstanding the fact that she might have suffered minor injuries. Plus, she put him in a thigh lock! How can you not love that? Also, she bit the guy, so the quoted sentence might just be suffering from poor punctuation: “Traces of the woman’s hair, and blood, were found on the bus.” Possibly the blood was from the perp? Semper fortis, sailor!
The blood came from her knuckles, which were skinned when she knocked that ************’* teeth down his throat.

it is a good story. i had visions of her going all chuck norris on his ass then running her brush through her hair and walking off. the image of her hair and blood just made it appear a much more intense fight. for me, it changed in my mind from a humorous story to a ferocious fight. that’s all.
Not to be a crackpot, but Dubai is in the United Arab Emirates (not that what Frank J. said wouldn’t apply to Saudi Arabia).
