[Red Giant | “Old/New” – Narrated by Patton Oswalt] (Viewer #57,605)
It’s like they’re trying for some kinda Dr. Seuss vibe, but it misses, and I’m not exactly sure what’s off about it.
Can someone else try putting into words what it’s lacking? Sympathetic protagonist, maybe?

um, everything that liberal hack (oswalt) touches is doomed to be appalling ?
Yep. It’s missing a less irritating narrator who might be capable of pretending to espouse moderation and compromise.
That’s not in Oswalt’s wheelhouse, ever.
I see the problem,
And I’ll bet you do too.
There are things so old,
They are thought of as new.
(But there is nothing new,
under the sun.
Lacking this understanding,
is a whole lot more fun.)
I actually think Oswalt is a talented voice actor, but after hearing him do his idiotically liberal stand-up routine, I can’t stand to listen to him speak anymore because I know what a horrible human being he is.
I may finish the video later, but I have an exceptionally low tolerance for “Dr. Seuss”isms that aren’t done spectacularly well. I’ve even failed at writing a few myself, so YES I feel free to throw stones here. The best I’ve ever seen is Veggie Tales’ “A Snoodle’s Tale”, which is excellent:

In this (Red Giant) case, my problem isn’t with Oswalt as the narrator – I actually like a lot of the guy’s stuff, and believe me when I say in my own life it is high time I take his advice and start swimming away from pie. But while (at least as far as I was able to stand watching) I think they *may* have hit upon a decent web-video-quality story line, the execution leaves me cold.
As for the protagonist, I had a GREAT TIME but eventually grew tired of that guy during the whole #Pajamaboy fiasco.
