Mainly because that’s what climates do naturally. There is obvious evidence at the northern end of the Mississippi Valley that that area was once inhabited by a shallow tropical ocean (limestone) and glaciers (limestone bluffs) for example.
It makes me sad that supposedly educated people can’t see that, it makes them look like imbeciles that should be ignored.
