What I’ve Been Working On: Love Gov

I know my blogging has been a bit, well, light for a while, but that’s because I have a day job with Emergent Order that uses up a lot of my creative energy. And it’s time to finally show you the big project I’ve been working on!

Love Gov

If you remember Obama’s “Life of Julia”, it’s kind of like a more realistic portrayal of that.

It’s five episodes, and you can binge watch now. And not only did I write for this series, I did the programming for the associated app (and I hid some funny stuff in there).

Enjoy! And I’d love to hear what your favorite lines are. Also, keep an eye out for a brief cameo by me.

  1. unfortunately, the app only works on annoying devices named after fruit…and I avoid those at the request of their CEO who said he doesn’t want money from “my kind”. Oh well. I guess if the aim is to educate limp-wristed bed-wetting liberals the aforementioned fruit product is the way to go, but I’ll have to take back the “awesome”.

  2. Favorite lines:

“I’ve never heard of a road paved with good intentions leading anywhere bad.” That has the Frank J attitude written all over it.

The second time he used “marijuana” as a boogieman. That made it instantly much funnier.

When he’s pleased to see that Livvy “can survive in direct sunlight.”

    Calling Lexi “Miss Graham Bell”

Technical note: I found the scenes with tripod work more emotionally effective, therefore better, than the hand-held ones. That could just be me, and a matter of taste — I’ve never liked very much all the hand-held work that became widespread in TV and movies.

Conceptual note: There seem to be unlimited possibilities in personifying Government. Good idea!
