It really doesn’t matter who Trump nominates, the Democrats will target him (or her). Someone who actually values the Constitution (as Gorsuch seems to be) is a huge target.
I’m thinking half the reason is that it’s simply trying to make things hard for Republicans. The other half is that Democrats really don’t believe in the Constitution.
