President Obama will be giving a speech at a healthcare conference for which he’ll be paid $400,000.
And now you know where your Obamacare premiums are going.

“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.” — William F. Buckley, Jr.
Yes, I’ve shared that quote many times. And will many many more. I mean, you can’t really improve on that, can you?
I’ve always enjoyed going to the movies. Well, not so much anymore, because it’s expensive. Still, there is something to be said with going out to the movies and watching something really entertaining on a big screen.
I have several hundred movies available for streaming, or ripped from DVD onto a local server, meaning that I don’t need to go out to the movies. I can watch a movie any time I want.
It’s the middle of the week, and it’s Wednesday Night Open Thread time. What’s on your mind? Got a topic to discuss? The floor is wide open.

Bruce Springsteen has released an anti-Trump protest song.
So, what’s he upset about? The improving economy or the dead terrorists?

North Korean state media warned the United States to expect a “super-mighty preemptive strike”
So… are all of Kim Jong Un’s foreign policies stolen from bad kung-fu movie subtitles?
Works like this: I feed you Moon Nukers a straight line, and you hit me with a punch line in the comments.
Liberal “news” blog ‘The Huffington Post’ is renaming itself…
The Army is now testing powerful lasers that can shoot a drone out of the sky on a battlefield.
If successful, United Airlines is looking to buy it for overbooked flight passenger management.
The inequality that politicians are most concerned about – because it hits close to home – is how unequal millionaires are to billionaires.
“We need to ban hate speech” = “I want to be a excused using violence against non-violent action”
Le Pen is French for “the pen.”
That’s the full extent of my knowledge on international politics.
People who say we need to ban the ill-defined “hate speech” hate speech.
We should have a March for Math. We wouldn’t be $20 trillion in debt if politicians stopped politicizing math and listened to calculators.
One of the worst developments for science is dumb people “loving” science.
Does anyone understand the point of any of these marches that have happened since Trump has become president?
It seems like they’re just slapping a label on things and marching, but no one has any long term goals or actual strategies.
Middle of my high school football games were interrupted by a march. Never understood what they were protesting – something about tubas.
It would be cool if there was a Mr. T themed restaurant with the slogan “I pity the full!”
The March for Science was a failure. Trump has just announced that his wall to keep out science will now be ten feet taller.
Is Obama going to finally explain what the hell a community organizer is?
I don’t trust anything out of the Russian government because it’s heavily Russian influenced.
Why are Dems always focusing on Trump’s horrible policies they disagree with and not his horrible policies they do agree with?
All the most horrific things humanity has done start with treating certain people as a liability to be mitigated for the benefit of others.
Powerless was disappointing. Great cast and great subject matter to work with, but the writing wasn’t there.
Oh, if only.
Of course, the government won’t really shut down. They’ll keep “essential services” running. Which means that government had services that aren’t essential. Which government shouldn’t be doing anyway.
I had the chance to babysit for the youngest grandson this weekend. Twice.
One of the things he likes to do is watch Finding Dory. He calls it Fish, probably because he’s 20 months old. “Papa, I wan’ watch Fish.”
So, we got to watch Fish, um, Finding Dory.
It’s Tuesday Night Open Thread! What’s on your mind? What do you want to share? Or get off your chest? Got a joke? Just something to say? Now’s the time.

With women now serving aboard submarines, the Navy is building new subs specifically to accommodate female crew members.
