Tuesday Night Open Thread

One of the YouTube channels I follow is List25. It’s kinda interesting.

I recently was perusing the channel and saw a list from December 2016, suggesting things we’d see from a Trump presidency. Now, at IMAO, you expect teh funneh when it comes to lists and such. But this isn’t one of those. It’s a serious list that was compiled and published half-way between the election and the inauguration.

How did they do? See for yourself.

What about you? No, I’m not asking if you think the president is doing what you expected, or if you think they were on target or off base — though you can discuss that, of course. No, I’m asking what’s on your mind. It’s Tuesday Night Open Thread and your turn to drive the conversation.

Who wants to start?

  1. My favorites were #19- The Democrats have to change! #1 Polling has to change! We see how that worked out CNN shows Trump with 35% favorable when other polls have him at 49%, And what have the Democrats done? The same old same old, only louder.

  2. Thomas Newcomen, who invented the first practical steam engine, was born in Dartmouth, Devon, England, February 28, 1664. That’s the town of Dartmouth, not Dartmouth College. If he’d been at Dartmouth College, he would have been too drunk, arrogant, and cynical to invent anything. Now, if your elementary school education was anything like mine, you were probably taught that James Watt invented the steam engine. In fact, James Watt invented a steam engine that was far better than Newcomen’s, Newcomen invented his in 1712 or so; Watt invented his in 1781.
