A First Lady who was a lady. That’s not as common as it once was.
I remember an interview with her in which the subject of slender Nancy Reagan came up. Mrs. Bush said (something like), “She’s a size four and so is my left leg.” Only a great woman could laugh at herself like that.
An extremely classy lady. Her only known concession to vanity was the triple strand of pearls she wore around her neck to, she said, hide the wrinkles.
I liked that she didn’t get a face lift either. Some older women look horrendous now. It is good to age gracefully and with a smile.
Neither does Melania Trump. I’m pretty happy with her as our first lady
