When asked if a new Indiana Jones movie could star a woman, Steven Spielberg said “there would be nothing wrong with that”.
I suppose not, although if you have a movie featuring a woman with a whip, I suspect you’d pull in a completely different demographic.
I think that would depend a lot on the boots….
Hummmmm….a woman with a whip!?! Why do I have a vision of Stephen casting Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren in this part?
Maybe this? https://tinyurl.com/ybyku5xx
If they had any imagination they would create a credible female action character that would be appealing in and of herself and not have to rely on a gimmick to try and drag in an audience that liked a different character.
So… Wonder Woman?
Who, with her lasso, is very near the previously mentioned whip demographic…
Wasn’t Lora Croft basically a female Indiana Jones?
Hey, I got a wild idea! If Hollywood wants to be bold how about remaking any movie that had a female lead and redo it using a transgendered man! Boffo!
Yeah, but… Who’d want to watch a movie with a female lead?
Except maybe Miss Congeniality…
Transgender goes undercover at a beauty contest to expose the venality and unwokefulness of a system designed to exploit women and also discriminate against self identifying genders! Someone call Harvey Weinstein, this is movie gold I tell you.
So…in this version California Jones is a designer who goes to antique shops to find rare and unusual brick-a-bracs and has to deal with bitchy baristas and Nazi conservatives.
