The chance of California splitting into three has moved a step closer now that enough signatures have been gathered to trigger a referendum on the issue.
Good. How many more signatures to just give it back to Mexico? Or did all the illegals signing their CA drivers license applications already accomplish that?

To be named: North Libtardia, The Peoples Republic of Central Libtardia, and Los República Del Sur Libtardia.
One of those is going to be a conservative state. But they still end up +2 on the Senator scale. Better off just giving them their “independence” and letting the conservative state “be” California. Then we are +4.
I’d bet the lefties in charge will ensure that each third is dominated by a leftist majority so it’s actually +4 lefty Senators.
If coservatives had any power they could fix the place.
They may vote to split but it is still going to take an act of Congress, Senate approval and Presidential signature to get it done. Depending on how they try to split it up.
Whatever happens in a referendum, the Constitution requires an act by testate legislature:
Article IV, Section 3.
New states may be admitted by the Congress into this union; but no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress.
Of course we are talking about Liberals so whatever they want the Constitution to mean they’ll get some judge to say they can mean it and the rest of us can go hang.
Maybe we get Trump to say he’s against giving Cali back to Spain.
That’d be funny.
I know why they’re thinking about this: because so many people kept saying, “California, go fork yourself.”
Not going to happen. US Senate will not allow any state to have more Senate seat after West Virginia split (and that’s only possible due to the Civil War raging at the time). The best the breakaway can hope for is for their corner (and House of Representative seats) to be absorbed into Nevada, Oregon and Arizona.
