Wednesday Night Open Thread

I got cable.

That might not seem like a big deal, but it kinda is. To me.

Why? Well, I wrote about it over at my little blog. Spoilers: The cable company offered a plan that was cheaper than Internet and a streaming plan. Still streaming though.

Anyway, that’s what’s going on with me. What about you? What’s new with you?

Do you have something you’d like to share with the crowd? It’s Wednesday Night Open Thread.

What’s on your mind?

  1. I don’t have cable, the only things I miss are baseball, hockey South Park and Futurama.
I will say that I can more easily find something to watch on the 10 or 15 channels I get over the air than I ever could with 100 channels of cable.

  2. Hurricane news: Onslow County, NC schools still do not have a date to resume school; ten schools lost roofs; that’s the county of Jacksonville, NC. Jones County, NC (Trenton) is going back on the 15th; they are writing off two of their schools due to water damage. The good news there is that the replacement for one of those is already being built and will be ready next year. Normally a healthy six year-old could throw a rock across the Trent River at Trenton. I talked to an EMT who lives in Trenton and works in my county yesterday; she was stuck at work for eight days. Robeson County Schools reopen this coming Monday; that’s where Lumberton is. My kids only missed about five days of school.

[Rats! I still can’t comment here from my phone.]
