Wednesday Night Open Thread

Stupid drivers kinda tick me off.

The other day, I saw two stupid drivers. One of them, I could see out my driver side window. The other I could see in the rear view mirror, if I strained my neck slightly. I wrote about it over at my little blog, if you care to know the details.

For here, though, it’s Wednesday Night Open Thread. That means you get to talk about whatever ticks you off. Or makes you happy. Or anything at all, really.

Who wants to start?

  1. The magnetic pole is experiencing a shift towards Russia, Locusts plague Mecca, Al Gore claims global warming is upon us, riots in France, Nancy Pelosi speaker again. RBG it seems is immortal. The Brexit is screwed, The Dems will probably take over everything in 2020, The millennials are clueless, The end is near!! And I don’t care…………………

    • Magnetic North is going south
      Muslim locusts swarm
Pelosi’s regained her footing in her mouth
      Al Gore thinks winter’s warm.

      Ruth Bader’s Ginsu-like
But wait — that’s not all:
      The Brexit movement’s plebi-psyche
      Mirrors The Mirror’s fall.

      Millenials lack any foundation
      Rebels without a glue:
It’s almost over for this nation
      Fortunately, for me, too.

    • Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
      Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best…

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

      If life seems jolly rotten
      There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
      Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle – that’s the thing.

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

      For life is quite absurd
      And death’s the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin – give the audience a grin
Enjoy it – it’s your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

      Life’s a piece of sh*t
      When you look at it
      Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke, it’s true.
      You’ll see it’s all a show
Keep ’em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the right side of life…
      (Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the bright side of life…
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life…
(I mean – what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing – you’re going back to nothing.
      What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life…

  2. I’m still waiting to see if Basil’s payoff for the “Sgt. Peppers” teaser could come to fruition.

If it couldn’t, that’s cool too. I can live with it. I’ll just tell myself it’s just a blog, I should really just relax.

    • I’m playing the long game on that one. Payoff won’t come for several weeks. And, it probably won’t be worth it. In fact, you’ll hate it. But you’ll appreciate the song more, so there’s that. Buts it’s weeks or months off.

  3. I have decided to ignore the world and take pleasure in small things. When my 18 year old dog and I wake up at more or less the same time, we are equally overjoyed to see that the other has survived the night. Yay! You’re moving! Simple things.
