I hate this sheltering in place crap. I think we are being panicked into doings things which are unnecessary and excessive to this extent. Prudent measures that should be taken for any flu season probably would have been good enough. And what of the destruction of the American economy? Is that worth it? Speaking as a person in two of the higher risk groups I don’t think so.
So I ask you gentle readers, what do you think? Was this trip really necessary?

It’s like giving you a year’s worth of chemo because you MIGHT get cancer.
I agree 100% and the more I think about it, the more I think we’re freaking out because there are lots of Deep Staters on the take from China.
As an odd coincidence, I’m sure, Dr. Fauci is a big admirer of Hillary Clinton. Just saying.
Since we were all supposed to be dead 10 years ago from Man Made Global Warming, CV is a flash in the pan.
I don’t think there’s any question that these measures will save some lives and reduce the death toll in this country. The question is are the lives saved worth the hit to our economy, our daily lives, and general inconvenience.
I think most here would agree that if instead of a virus that was killing people in a certain age group with health conditions it was doctors killing a group of people in a certain age group and certain medical condition that the answer would be “yes”.
Here is just one of many takes on the state of the virus and some perspective.
Powerline
“I do accept that what we’re doing is extraordinary. We’re taking away the ancient, inalienable right of free-born people of the United Kingdom to go to the pub, and I can understand how people feel about that.
“Though to be clear, they can continue to provide takeout services.”
— Boris Johnson, on ordering the UK’s pubs to close.
The odds of someone under 60 getting seriously ill (barring pre-existing issues) is very, very remote. People under 60 or should go to work and go about their daily lives. Those over 60 or with preexisting issues should be asked to voluntarily self-quarantine.
This is America. This “you have to stay home for your own good” crap needs to end.
Last night I received an e mail from my employer, telling me that I have been laid off (I’m a physician assistant). (no, me either)
So, I guess I’m electing self quarantine!
