Friday Night Open Thread: Ask Them No Questions, They’ll Still Tell You Lies

How the Destruction of Grammar and Logic Got Biden into the Oval Office
American Thinker | Robert Oscar Lopez | 1/27/21

We now live with the result of bad education.  To believe in Biden’s win, we would have to believe that since nobody has given a clear reason for the simultaneous stoppage of vote-counting in key swing states, no nefarious reason could exist for it.  We would have to believe that Republican observers were expelled in multiple dist.ricts simply because all the election officials were in the same bad mood.  We would assume that all affidavits provided by Trump’s team are lies, but all statements provided by Biden’s team are truthful.  We would have to believe that millions of voters who favored Biden by breathtaking margins mailed in their ballots late enough that they arrived after the Election Night, to be counted with no observation, but no large contingent of Trump voters mailed in ballots on such a late date.  We would have to believe that Democratic activists who support amnesty for people who defrauded immigration processes or asylum claims, and who spent four years equating Trump to Hitler, would miraculously show restraint and report nothing but honest vote totals.  We would have to believe that honest mistakes caused the computer glitch in a Michigan county, but nowhere else, even though authorities are actively preventing the Trump team from inspecting the software and hardware.

That anybody believes that the Biden win was certifiable is a sad irony.  That half the country believes it is an indictment against our nation.  As a former English professor, I say, give credit where it is due.  Blame the English departments.

Maybe They Should Spell It “R.I.C.O.”

I’m so freaking sick of Schumer.

Chuck Schumer Flips On Puerto Rican Statehood
The Federalist | 2/18/2021 | Tristan Justice

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer flipped on his position over Puerto Rican statehood this week, declaring his opposition to the idea after having endorsed it last year.

During a community Zoom meeting Thursday, Schumer said he now opposes Puerto Rican statehood. “I don’t agree with them, I’m not going to support their statehood bill,” Schumer said of legislation from Democratic Rep. Ritchie Torres that would open the door to Puerto Rico becoming a state.

Flash back to four months ago, however, and Schumer held the opposite position. “Believe me, on D.C. and Puerto Rico, particularly if Puerto Rico votes for it — D.C. already has voted for it and wants it — I’d love to make them states,” Schumer told MSNBC’s Joy Reid in October.

Schumer endorsed Puerto Rican statehood last fall as a threat to intimidate Republicans from confirming then-Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court weeks before the November election. Granting statehood to the U.S. territory would likely give Democrats two more senators and at least one more representative in the House.

Be Afraid, the Stupid it Burns!

I couldn’t decide which group this should be in. Then I decided why not both? So in case you missed this.

Now first off I want to apologize to anyone who served this country with distinction and dedication. I salute your service. But if you don’t read this and cry you are braver than I.

Navy task force recommends pledge to respect ‘intersectional identities’ in attempt to combat all forms of discrimination

Now personally I want, in the immortal words of Saint Rushbo (PBUH), a military that can break things and kill people. I don’t think that is the mission any more.

“I pledge to advocate for and acknowledge all lived experiences and intersectional identities of every Sailor in the Navy,” the proposed pledge reads. “I pledge to engage in ongoing self-reflection, education and knowledge sharing to better myself and my communities. I pledge to be an example in establishing healthy, inclusive and team-oriented environments. I pledge to constructively share all experiences and information gained from activities above to inform the development of Navywide reforms.”

You just know that Xi and Vlad are just quaking in their boots.

Can it get worse. Checks magic 8 ball. Yes, yes it can.

“At the command level, we need to: a. Start a dialogue with your superiors, peers and teams and listen to their personal stories and experiences. If we have not directly experienced racism, sexism, ageism, or other forms of discrimination, it is often difficult to realize they exist,” the report said. “However, they do exist in our Navy and country, and it is our responsibility to eliminate them. b. Keep the conversation going. Practice inclusion every day by integrating Sailor and civilian perspectives in early stages of problem-solving and idea generation. In each meeting you have and problem you tackle, include all perspectives to gather varied points of view that will help you make the best decision.”

Sticks and stones may break bones by names will really, really hurt you.

The task force also tackled issues relating to the treatment of gender minorities, updating ship and street names on installations, and countering hate speech.

What happens when the military stops meeting it’s recruitment targets. Just asking. For a country.
