Still not decided between Trump (old / bold / uncontrolled) and DeSantis (younger / more judicious), though both are on the correct side of issues. And credit where credit’s due:
During an interview Monday evening with political commentator Benny Johnson, DeSantis said he would not be drinking Bud Light anymore as he did not wish to help enable “woke companies” and their goals of “trying to change our country, trying to change policy, [and] trying to change [the] culture.”
“Why would you want to drink Bud Light? I mean like honestly, that’s like them rubbing our faces in it, and it’s like these companies that do this, if they never have any response, they are just gonna keep doing it,” DeSantis told Johnson.
The Republican governor suggested conservatives do not have to sit on the sidelines on the issue, but they have “power” to hit the company where it hurts: their bottom line.
“So, if you as a consumer are like… ‘ yeah, they’re doing that, but I’m just gonna keep drinking it anyways,’ well, then they’re gonna keep doing it,” the governor continued. “So I think we have power as consumers to make our voice heard, and not on every company because sometimes conservative consumers aren’t going to make a dent in some companies.”

I agree with the man, he speaks good things. Although I’ve tried playing the not supporting woke companies game. Life got real hard real fast. Gotta treat it more like a guideline. NFL, NBA, MLB, easy to boycott, there’s plenty of entertainment. But when Home Depot and Lowes both started doing woke stuff, and our local hardware stores only sold tchotchkes it became a bit harder. I guess I’m just saying let’s do our best and not crucify ourselves if we slip. But I haven’t drank bud lite in years.
Also, Trump is an automatic fail. Not on policy, but on the fact that he won’t accomplish anything without a brute force (R) takeover of both houses. Otherwise TDS will mean instant gridlock. Trump needs to be a cheerleader, booster, advisor. Desantis needs his turn. I fear Trump will do enough harm in the primaries that the ultimate win will go to (D)’s.
I hope I never have to stop drinking milk bc of politics. I luv that stuff.
