Just Stop Oil: Five Charged After Protesters Disrupt Les Miserables
BBC | 10/06 | Sam Hancock

Five Just Stop Oil protestors have been charged with aggravated trespass after a performance of Les Miserables in London’s West End was halted.

A video shared by the activist group showed demonstrators getting up on to the Sondheim Theatre’s stage and asking the audience to “join the rebellion”. Audience members can be heard booing and telling the activists to “get off”.

The show on Wednesday night did not resume – organisers instead offered refunds or tickets for another night. Having arrested five people, aged between 18 and 28, the Metropolitan Police later confirmed that all had been charged.

  1. Hey, Cinnamon, where can we protest to most effectively change people’s minds about fossil fuels?

How about a theatrical showing of Les Mis? Homosexual men and drunken housewives are our fiercest opponents in the war on oil…

  2. Arseholes
    In your multitudes
    Scarce to be useful
    Filling the theatre
    With disorder and spite
    You are the douchebags
    Loud and insecure
    Keeping on ruining the night
    Just keep ruining our night
You don’t know your place in the world
    You keep holding your course
    And each without reason
    Returns and returns
    And is always the same
Your climate change is a scam
    We wont burst into flames!
    And so it must be
    For so it is written
    On the doorway to paradise
That those who ruin art and shows ,
    Must pay the price!
    Lord let me find them
    That I may see them
    Safe behind bars
    We must never rest
    Till then, this I swear…
This I swear by the stars!
