Someone stole a Jasper radio station’s 200-foot tower, owner says
al.com | Feb 6, 2024 | Carol RobinsonThe owner of an Alabama radio station is stunned, and out a lot of money, after thieves made off with his 200-foot radio tower.
The theft was discovered Friday when landscapers went to clean up the area.
Brett Elmore, owner of WJLX in Jasper, then received an unexpected, and baffling, call.
“He said, ‘Brett, we’re down here and the tower’s gone.’’

And they only noticed it missing then?
I needed it for the remote detenator for the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, so I stuffed it down the front of my pants and walked away. I didn’t think that anybody noticed, though I did get some winks from a few ladies.
as a resident of Alabama I want to make it clear that I didn’t do it. No one saw me. They can’t prove a thing.
Is that a 200 ft radio tower in your pocket or are you just glad to see us?
Don”t give in to temptation and start using it as a scratching post …
Nick Saban stole it because ..alzheimers.
He thought it was a goal post.
I don’t know nothing about a 200 foot radio tower.
If you need me I’ll be in my new 200 foot tree stand.
Hey, it’s all their fault for not watching well enough – that made it super easy, barely an inconvenience…
Tower theft is tight!
wow, wow, wow….wow.
So…if you run a radio station and no one notices you went off the air…well you might want to revise your theme or playlists…
I guess Michael Obama has started preparing to build his monument. And here I thought he was just going to paint over Washington’s.
