Okay all you young kids — and by that I mean anyone under 50 — in case you need a reminder of why we thought so much of Ronald Reagan, here’s a clip of of him with Johnny Carson. This was 1975, a full five years and change before he was elected president. What Reagan said then still applies today. Only more so.

The movie about Wake is excellent.
They were making it as it was still going on and hey had to delay finishing the movie because the Marines just kept holding on.
The oddest part about Ronnie Raygun in 1975 is that he was governor of California. Now, he’s the boogeyman of California. Or at least he was till the bad orange man staged his coup.
These days in California Reagan is the the deputy boogeyman.
In 2019 California would never elect someone that intelligent and articulate.
And He would NEVER get invited on the Tonight Show.
