Random Thoughts: “Tell Me Again About the Government Spending, George”

A no gun policy for a building is counter-productive if there isn’t a metal detector to find guns on those who don’t follow rules. Really. Disarming people based on the honor system — who is going to follow that?

The new book title needs updating on my Wikipedia page. I don’t know whose job it is to fix that, but get on it.

The left has successfully convinced me it would be very dangerous to give them firearms.

Obama loves jobs like Lenny loved puppies.

Every time you eat one of their sandwiches, Chik-fil-A murders a gay person… but not anyone you know and they’re very good sandwiches.

Good question: If Obama is Lenny, then who is Biden? Most politicians are Lennys.

Obama to veterans: “You didn’t destroy that! Government made those roads and bridges you blew up.”

Has Penn State football won any games since 1997? I can’t remember.

I can’t eat at Chik-fil-A because I’m gluten-free along with my wife, so y’all stop talking about it.

Kind of like Godwin’s law, the more sequels a movie franchise has, the probability one will take place in space approaches 1.

Arya Stark from the Game of Thrones books is like the 9-year-old girl version of Sam Fisher.

So David Frum is anti-gun? I guess Meghan McCain is more of a real conservative than he is.

  1. The left want’s to strengthen the anti-gun laws even more? I guess that means on all those “Gun Free Zone” signs they’re going to add “We mean it!” at the bottom.

Just keep reminding libs that the orginal gun restriction laws were passed by southern Democrats with the intent to keep free blacks (and later black citizens) from arming and protecting themselves.

  2. Banning guns indoors makes as much sense as forbidding costumes in movie theaters since Holmes bought a ticket, went out the emergency exit, got dressed and retrieved his firearms, and returned. It’s completely reactionary…like forbidding liquids over 3 oz or making everyone take their shoes off…

This used to be a general rule of thumb among my bad movie friends; the fouth installment of any franchise might as well have “In Space” tacked into the title. Examples: Leprechaun IV: In Space . Hellraiser: Bloodline = Hellraiser IV: In Space. Didn’t really work out that way*, but consider what might have been: Gremlins 4: In Space. Poltergeist 4: In Space. Ah well. We also note that we could retitle the following: Star Trek IV: On Earth!

*Yeah. I know. Friday the 13th waited until X. Slackers….

Sorry, I’m not going to movies in movie theaters if it’s going to mean going through metal detectors and TSA searches.

  5. I’ve heard that if you’re licensed and you concealed carry in a building with a “No Weapons” sign, you’re not in violation of the law unless you refuse to leave when they ask you to.

    It may vary by state.

  6. “If Obama is Lenny, then who is Biden?” trick question – ALSO Lenny.

I actually like Morgan Freeman’s portrayal of the, wise, impotent President who can offer no solution to the problem at hand, and can only deliver the news that everyone’s screwed so we’d better just accept it in that mellow baritone that puts everyone at ease than the one currently playing President on TV. Still, the does get a lot of air time…he must have a great agent.

  7. “Good question: If Obama is Lenny, then who is Biden?”
I kinda agree with Harvey: Carl Carlson, although Biden would have to be about a billion percent more coherent before that would actually work.
On the other hand, Google tells me I don’t understand the question. Oh, well.
