Oh what joy from Mr. Barry! A$$hat!

  2. Socrates says:

Thank you for your cogent analysis of Mr. Barry’s work, Frank. Excellent post. Professional historians have almost universal regard for Barry’s early seminal material, and it’s good to know that no less an Internet force than yourself has taken the time to put his data and reasoning to the test. And for the bonus of concision we can only applaud more.

His entries regarding Obama and the media were surprisingly accurate.

“# On the Democratic side, the surprise winner is Barack Obama, who is running for president on a long and impressive record of running for president. A mesmerizing speaker, Obama electrifies voters with his exciting new ideas for change, although people have trouble remembering exactly what these ideas are because they are so darned mesmerized. Some people become so excited that they actually pass out. These are members of the press corps.”

    I have to admit that’s a pretty good one…

Wow. At Right Wing News fully 1/12 of the best quotes of the year belong to IMAO bloggers. And some guy named Frank gets all the credit. Go figure. Seriously though, John Hawkins is no blind squirrel, he can find a nut here every day here.

OOps that link was to Consrevative Grapevine. D’oh!

2008 was the year “Teh Funny” went from boom to bust on conservative humor blogs. Looking back on it, making fun of Her Royal Thighness Highness, Silky Pony, John McPain, Ba Rockobama, Bushitler, Ron Paul and others was a luxury.

Predictions for 2009? My crystal ball went dark.

I’m not mesmerized, and I didn’t recall ANY IDEAS!
He’s the Pied Piper, nothing else.

  9. Terry_Jim says:

Barack Obama, in a historic triumph, is elected the nation’s first black president since the second season of “24,” setting off an ecstatically joyful and boisterous all-night celebration that at times threatens to spill out of the New York Times newsroom.

    Dave Barry nails it .
And where else but his blog could you find sports headlines like this?

  10. Jimmy says:

Have a Happy New Year Some Kind of 2009, Frank.

  11. seanmahair says:

“Dave Barry is making most of this up”……….No, Dave Barry is not making most of this up, some but not most. Most of it, unfortunately, is absolutely true.

Happy Armageddon, everyone…. catch you on the flip side.

    Armageddon can’t come yet!
There are still 2 Harry Potter, and 5 Cronicles of Narnia movies I haven’t seen yet!
Also I’ve still got a lot of annoying people to out-live.
