You do not have to be stupid to be a liberal … okay, maybe you do
Hank Johnson, who defeated Cynthia McKinney in 2006 to represent Georgia’s 4th District, has a perfect 100% rating from the ACLU. Which makes him the perfect one to ask an Admiral about the impact of U.S. military personnel on Guam:
Johnson’s comments came during a House Armed Services Committee meeting as he questioned Adm. Robert Willard, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, about the impact of U.S. troops on the little island.
“My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize,” Johnson said, straight-faced and seemingly serious.
The admiral seemed to take the question seriously, too. “We don’t anticipate that,” he said, proceeding to describe the population on Guam.
Yes, that’s real. Not an April Fools’ Day joke. Here’s the video. The key piece is at 1:15

Is it any wonder that he rates 100% — lifetime — from the ACLU?
The stupider, the better, when it comes to a liberal agenda.

Everyone knows that Guam rests upon the back of the Giant Sea Turtle, Gamera.

The Admiral should have suggested tying helium balloons to the palm trees to prevent capsizing.

Don’t you mean A’tuin?
April 1st, 2010 at 7:13 pm
Wiccapedia already has this account entered into Hank Johnson’s entry, complete with Hank Johnson’s ‘splainin’ that he was just being metaphorical.
Kind of like when he said Joe Wilson’s comments will lead to white hoods, and white uniforms being donned, and riding through the countryside.

A’tuin carries an entire world on his back, Gamera is a pygmy compared to A’tuin.

“Uh, we don’t anticipate that.”
Hillarious. Utterly hillarious.
And sad. But mostly hillarious.

Strange…. You would think a Navy Admiral could give the congressman a lesson on displacement, righting moments, laminar flow, seperation turbulance…ETC, ETC. what an opportunity lost. That much information may have resulted in jelly brain syndrome, similar in its presentation to rectal crainial inversion, ( similar but not as entertaining). Alas I suspect the good admiral was an Airdale.

Ya’ know?? There comes a point in everyones’ career when retirement plans should come up for discussion…

Basil, you are clearly being racist.
This would be a rare instance where a benefit of the doubt would mean Rep. Johnson was drunk.

Rush explained that the man has Hepatitis C (?) and easily loses track of where he is in his thought process. What’s scary is that SanFranNan has seen fit to put him on this particular committee, even if his district is stupid enough to send him to Washington! Perhaps they figured they couldn’t get much worse than Cynthia McKinney, but it’s probably a close tie in that case.

Take this idiocy; multiply it by the number of times military officers are required to testify before Congress, and you’ll understand why the admiral didn’t miss a beat in trying to explain the issue in a way Rep. Johnson might understand.

Johnson’s illness makes this too tragic to be funny.
Admiral Willard’s reply however, is totally fair game and just cracks me up.

Lifted from Wikipedia (source of all correctness): In 2009, Johnson demanded censure of Rep. Joe Wilson’s “you lie” remark, arguing that the comment had an unseen racial undertone and that, if Wilson was not formally rebuked, “We will have people with white hoods running through the countryside again.”
Well explains the ACLU 100%

Ranks up there with the Florida congresscritter who was a bit shocked to hear of animal husbandry during a hearing. But it does explain why Michael Moores ass and Al Frankens head are not allowed on the same coast at any one time.

How did the others in the frame keep from falling out of their chairs in laughter?

Welcome to ObamaLand. It would be funny on a talk show, Like Letterman asking that question. This guy is a U.S. Congressman! No, he wasn’t making a joke. If he’s ill, he should be removed from office for inability to perform his duties. But since he votes the Democrap party line, he stays…. What if he was a Republician?
April 1st, 2010 at 11:57 pm
While this is terribly sad (if he is really ill) it is a symptom of the lack of common sense we have in spades in government today. If you can do a job you should be allowed to do it. If you can’t you should be encouraged to step down and allow someone else to serve. But that I fear is the disconnect. Service to ones country and ones fellow citizens has taken a back seat to greed, corruption, partisan politics and arrogant special interests.
It’s too bad this mans party, family and state have allowed things to get to where he is now a laughing stock world wide. I guess it’s his turn. So sad.

oh c’mon everyone knows about global warming tipping points. Thats why we need socialism – to prevent sudden small island tip over which is caused by capitalist greed – and SUV’s

The Marine Corps took Guam from the Japanese in WWII. We took it, it’s ours….end of story!

I used to live i his district for a long time ago for nearly a decade. I could write a book on the liberal insanity there. Wanna be a conserative? Visit his district. Cynthia McKenney wasn’t even the worst. A candidate for a local position ran on socailising the world’s grocery stores. Free food ! Yeah !! What a bunch of liberal nuts.
April 2nd, 2010 at 8:20 am
Is it raaaaaaaaaaaaaaacist to point out that he’s quite possibly the stupidest person on the planet? So much for the argument that liberals are the intellectual ones. If someone this dumb got elected, just imagine the types who voted for him…wow.
April 2nd, 2010 at 10:56 am
I’m guessing, since there are people who voted him their “representative”, it would be best to just avoid Georgia’s 4th district altogether.
[But you have to go through part of that district -- including a short ride on the Cynthia McKinney Highway (really) -- to get to Stone Mountain Park. And Stone Mountain is always an enjoyable day. There. I've done my part for the Georgia Tourism Board. - B]

Yeah, the laser light show is terrific. It shows the great generals of the confederacy riding off into the sunset as if to say…”We’re out of here, Y’all can have this madness”
(Built a theater on top of Stone Mountain back in the early 80′s. It was a trip riding the Lift up and down 4 times a day…except when it was windy, then it was kind of scary.)

just imagine how friggin funny this would be in towlies voice
oh please matt and trey, please parody this with towlie
April 2nd, 2010 at 9:26 pm
I hate to admit it, but I voted for this guy in the primary to help get rid of Cynthia McKinney.
Never thought I’d look back and think “Wow that was a mistake!”

You have to forgive him, he’s clearly a victim of childhood violence. Too many pianos, anvils, and safes were dropped on his head while he was hunting wabbits. Then there was that unfortunate accident with the coconut. Oh! And the time the tunnel entrance was painted on the wall. Next time, gently remind him that cartoons and Lost are make believe, give him a lolly, and send him out to go save urban kids from Whitey.
April 3rd, 2010 at 2:55 pm
I could imagine this being on SNL or MAD TV, but not CSPAN!
