Communism only works if you don’t go past the number of people who want to make it work and are willing to put up with the needs it can’t fill. I would put that at about 1,000. Under that you can probably have a Communist based community. Past that the structure of Communism cannot fulfill the needs of all the members of community and must then begin forcing both attendance and compliance on no longer believing members.

When they disembarked from the Mayflower the community was set up as a commune.After the first full years harvest, their leaders realized that that making each man responsible for feeding himself, and the result was a capitalist America.
