Achtung! A Few Things You Should Know About Schroeder

Gerhard Schroeder won the election yesterday. Know who also won an election in the past? Hitler. Hitler was elected in Germany. Know what country Schroeder won his election in? Germany as well. Schroeder was wearing a nice suit and tie for the occasion – just like Hitler used to wear – and combed his hair too – like Hitler. He then gave a speech – Hitler loved speeches – in German (guess what language Hitler spoke) while standing up (no wheelchair for Hitler) and, though I don’t know the text of the speech (know whose speeches I also don’t know the text of? That’s right, Hitler!), I’m sure it was all about how he’d improve Germany, just like Hitler would promise. Schroeder also said he wouldn’t help America fight Iraq. Now, who is that other person who never helped America fight Iraq? Oh yeah, Hitler! And what kind of name is Gerhard? I’ve never known anyone named Gerhard. I’ve also never known anyone named Adolph. To be fair, there are some differences between Schroeder and Hitler. Hitler had a mustache, but Schroeder, quite conspicuously, does not (almost too conspicuously, if you ask me). Also, Schroeder is not responsible for the death of millions, but, hey, the night is still young.

  1. What’s that ?
I’ve never seen such a naive statement before.
Did you know the german history between 1946 and 2002? Do you know anything about the german political parties the german constitution and the german government ? It is not possible to compare Gerhard Schroeder with Adolf Hitler, cause Gerhard Schroeder is a democratic socialis, the government includes the “green party”, this party is a fundamentally pacifist party. There are people like Christian Strˆbele, who oppose every activity of german military outside Germany.
And this government will not help the US because Germany wants peace in the world and no more war, OK ?
I don’t agree with your silly opinions !

  2. If learning for you involves to see war as the best strategy to achieve peace, then you are absolutely right. Ever thought that contradicting yourself doesn’t sound very intelligent.
Moreover, could you tell me the source which let you assume that Hitler wanted peace. How dare you post a statement like “Germans never learn the lesson of history”. There is no need for us to learn that lesson, as the message is already part of ourselves. It’s present every day and everywhere. Do you really think that we are ignoring our past? Do you think America would ever forget about 9/11? I don’t think so and that is how it should be. Just as they won’t forget this, we won’t forget all those terrible things that happened in and through our country. And what happened is the basis of how Germany acts today. It seeks peaceful solutions. It’s ridiculous to assume that we were friends of Sadam Hussein and hate America. It’s just that America’s and Germany’s idea of dealing with the conflict in Iraq didn’t correspond, partly due to different lessons from history. Our lesson is part of our laws and restrict what German forces can be used for. I know that there have already been some exceptions. But there has to be a limit somewhere and attacking Iraq went to far for us. I am not very pleased with this Schroeder-Chirac-alliance, as I think we had different reasons to deny our support in this conflict as the French. I am not very pleased with our chancellor either. I didn’t in fact vote for him last year, but this was because of domestic issues.
Finally, I really don’t like writing comments. Nor is writing hate mails one of my hobbies. If this sounded like one I am really sorry. If you hate me our my Old European country (which is actually quite young, as it was founded in 1949)I can’t change that, but bear in mind that those Germans who travelled a lot and got involved in different cultures, know that they have a bad reputation in quite a few countries. Although they sometimes really don’t know why, they got used to it and learnt to live with stereotypes.
Feel free to insult me. I know that I have some really good friends both in America and Britain and can very well distinguish between the state and the individuals. If you can’t, I am sorry.

  3. That was the stupidest thing i have ever heard in my life! Who thinks of that? The way someone has their hair done, and the suit they are wearing has nothing to do with the person they are. You must be gay…right? Only a gay guy would notice something like that. But my firend, if you DO turn out to be right about this whole theory you’ve got going on here, my sincerist apologies.

  5. As a descendant of Kaiser Wilhelm (‘The Kuddly Kaiser’ to his friends, or just ‘Big Willy Kaiz’), I’d like to take this moment to publically denounce the above posters for their remarks.
Frank, you gotta remember, after the Berlin wall went down, the dreary and oppressed bums from the east intermingled with the free peoples of the west and created the current german stock thats completely imune to humor, sarcasm, or exageration. Guess it didn’t help that all the choice bloodlines took off before WW2 too.

  6. U people are all idiots. Germany is a respectable and politically active country, just like the US. So what if thye had a history of Nazis, the US had a history of kicking out innocent Native AMericans. So mind your own damn business, you bastard! Gerhard Shroeder is a dedicated, caring chancellor who knows what he’s doing or he wouldn’t have been appointed.
