I just saw a new McBride commercial against Jeb Bush. In it, they say that Jeb Bush has “devious plans” for the amendment to limit class size in Florida. And, guess what, they have evidence that Jeb Bush has said devious plans. On a secret tape they obtained at the expense of many Democrats’ lives, Bush proclaims quote, “I have devious plans.” Wow! Devious plans so devious that they cannot be described by the devious Jeb Bush as anything other than devious plans! Think of the nightmare of deviousness if Jeb Bush is reelected!
Joanne Jacobs, who knows infinitely more about education issues than I, points out that McBride is yet another person against standardized tests for teachers and instead wants to reward schools that produce dumb kids with more money. I wonder if he’s in the pocket of the NEA? That would be devious!
At first, I was just really happy that Reno would not be my governor, but, now that I’m over that euphoria, I really don’t want McBride either. So, if you’re a Floridian, make sure to vote on… oh, crap, I better find out when that day is.

The problem with standardized tests, is that the people who design the tests will be the same people who don’t want the tests. If forced to adopt them, they’ll just standardize mediocrity.
Algebra Tests
I have to put on a really thick tin foil hat for this remark, but it is all a smokescreen. The public education experiment has failed. The only solution to fix the public schools is to close them and allow each parent the option of choosing a school from the private sector (or homeschooling).
Whaddaya know, I find this nifty blog through Spleenville and the first post I see has to do with standardized testing (the subject of my blog)….
I’ve linked to the sad “Where’s the algebra?” story before. It is truly ridiculous for people who don’t support standardized tests to construct them. The problem is, even those who DO support them get worn down by the people who keep chipping away at the high stakes and keep finding reasons that schools should not be held accountable for lousy test scores.
And yes, Bill McBride is receiving a great deal of his funding from the Florida teachers union, so I’m sure he’s supported by the NEA as well.
Okay, I’ll go along with that. Surely, you’re going to vote for a FREAKING CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to protect pregnant pigs, though!!! right? right?
