I’m okay with people saying Romney is the only viable choice. I just get angry if they act like he’s not a crappy choice.
It should be illegal to use the term “fair share” without some concrete definition of it. Sentence for this crime: punch to face.
“Fair share” will never be defined as far as taxation. It’s not a policy. It’s just a whine.
So are we serious on this debt thing, or is that just a partisan attack we’ll forget when we have a Republican president?
Just as the media didn’t care two straws how much Kerry paid in taxes, if *we* are to remember how much the debt stinks under the next prez., Frank, you’ll have to do it.
Republican President will continue raise the debt but this time it will be for a good reason, not like those liberals…
My daughter is learning about Lenin and communism in 8th grade world history. I explained it like this:
Communism = equal outcomes = everyone gets the same* = less for everyone.
Capitalism = equal opportunity* = everyone gets different = more for everyone.
*assuming government is not picking favorites
Now, it seems that fair-share is is a subjective term.
““Fair share” will never be defined as far as taxation. It’s not a policy. It’s just a whine.”
Yup. You have to ask yourself one kestion. If tax burdens are ever more shifted to the wealthy over time, when will liberals say:
“Stop! The rich are paying their fair share now.”
That would be when liberal functionaries are riding in their ZIL liimousines free of traffic in their exclusively marks lanes from their spacious Party member only housing to their seaside dachas via a bit of shopping at the closed-to-the-general-public foreign goods store.
Trotsky would be proud. Well, he would be proud until he criticized the “unfairness” of the system. Then, he would be hunted down and murdered with an ice axe.
It should be illegal to use the term “fair share” without some concrete definition of it. Sentence for this crime: Musket to the junk.
FIFY
Burma’s right it a whine.
Waaa he got more than mee, waaaa!!
By the way. I’m not touching you!
“So are we serious on this debt thing, or is that just a partisan attack we’ll forget when we have a Republican president?
Oh! Oh! I know this one! Pick me! :/
“Fair Share” is progressive newspeak for “Stick ’em up!”
“So are we serious on this debt thing, or is that just a partisan attack we’ll forget when we have a Republican president?”
No, we have candidates who are serious about really, really wanting to be president…for no other reason than they really want it.
Fair share? It’s like the Prosperity Gospel ie something for nothin with God being replaced by the federal government. Give little g your homage and he will shower you with favor. Sorry I get cranky when I’m suffering sermon block.
@Ed: Prayers for guidance for your sermon block.
EdthePastor: How about redemption? I am thinking of a young man (kid, really) in particular who recently made a HUGE mistake that impacted his friends and family as well as himself. Without giving him a free pass, I would like to believe – and somehow convince him – that he is not defined for the rest of his life by the worst and stupidest thing he has ever done, and that he can indeed learn from this, become a better person, and “rise on the stepping-stones of his dead self to higher things.” (PG Wodehouse) Right now, he’s feeling like something the cat buried, and it’s hard to get inspired to fix yourself when you hate yourself. So, I guess my theme is that forgiveness – including self-forgiveness – is a necessary part of redemption.
Or, just talk about how G-d hates homosexuals. That’ll keep ’em awake in the pews.
I heard a quip from a speech by the Present today on the radio:
“I believe in a America where everyone gets their fair share, and everyone does their part.”
Translation:
“I day-dream of a Amerika where everyone gets what I decide is fair for them to have, and no more, and where everyone does what I tell them to do or else.”
#10 – Ed the Pastor,
G.K. Chesterton is always inspiring to me.

“Just going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.”
― G.K. Chesterton
PS:
“The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because generally they are the same people.”

Oh, but Frank, at the debate, Romney told Santorum that “it wasn’t worth getting agry about.”
Of course, he was talking about Santorum’s objections to Romneycare and its similarity to Obamacare. I had the feeling Rick Santorum could easily have punched him at that point. And it would have stuck -= Romney would have gone down for the count.
I have a new respect for Rick Santorum. And, he’s young!
Jimmy, whatever you do don’t mention Romney’s “don’t worry about it” attitude to Emperor Misha over at the Rott. The response he wrote to that nearly melted my cell phone!
