Admittedly, Nate Silver does need a bit more rigorous data study to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Paul Krugman is a giant hack. Still, this is a fun article.

Before you further attack Nobel Laureate Krugman, you really should recall that in 1999 he received $50,000 in consulting fees from Enron. No word on whether the check was signed by Kenneth Lay personally, but I’m pretty sure he was one of the “Smartest People in the Room”.

I feel the same way. He gives his reasons for his conclusions, assigns probabilities, and is remarkably calm and objective. No wonder he left the New York Times. Judging by what Krugman has written about 538 since Silver left the NYT, I’d guess that Silver administered an atomic wedgie to him on the way out the door.
We just need a bigger boat.
