He has an actual job?!?
Moving sidewalks–does he think he’s at Hartsfield airport or something?
Umm–moped?
(But good for him for sticking to it!)

The Roads must Roll by Robert Heinlein.
If the dude cannot afford $5 of gas to get to and from work every day must not have a job worth $#!t.
Not to mention. . . 35 miles round trip? WTF? Even at a brisk 4 miles an hour, that’s almost 9 hours! Plus working 8? That leaves 7 hours a day for everything else, like sleeping, eating, taking a shower, etc.
Sounds suspicious.
If you tell me he walks 17 miles a day to his job at an Ethanol plant, I’m really going to believe it was made up by some Iowan on high fructose moonshine.
It’s also uphill.
Both ways.
In the snow.
