the unfortunate thing about Trump is that most “conservatives” I talk to dont oppose him because his record only turned conservative a couple of years ago. They oppose him because every other word out of his mouth isn’t “Jesus” or “abortion”. I hope those people don’t stick us with another Bush.
The appeal of Trump is that supporting him is like a big fat middle finger to the Republican establishment and left wing media. I don’t have high hopes for the media but maybe the republican establishment will take the cue. If the establishment seriouslt got behind Ben Carson or Ted Cruz (or both as the ticket) Trump would be gone tomorrow.
The value of Trump being in the race is that without him they would be printing Bush/Rubio 2016 bumper stickers right now. The establishment would have done a Herman Cain to Carson by now and Fiorina would not even be talked about at all. Rand is looking a bit petulant as he thought he would get to run as the outsider even though he is very much an insider. Right now Carson is shaping up to be an excellent VP and whoever gets the nomination should really consider him. I fully expect Trump to gloriously implode at some point, but until then as long as he keeps the establishment canidates looking inept I am happy with that.
Now everyone likes to bash Trump but no one has been able to explain to me how having him as President would be worse than the guy we have now or Biden/Hillary/Sanders. Trump at least has some actual accomplishments in the real world unlike Obama or Hillary.
As a sentient being that often self identifies as Squirrel, I must protest Mr. Trump’s macroaggressive disrespect for Squirrel culture. We demand an immediate apology.
If there is a group of people more tone deaf on the voice of the people than the Republican “Establishment” one would be hard pressed to find them. The only way to get to them is for them to LOSE THEIR JOBS. I prefer the primary route with replacement by actual conservatives but if a message must be sent via a Democrat taking their JOB than so be it, at least they are closer to being honest in their Socialist tendencies than our “Establishment” who gives us the Socialism served up with Conservative rhetoric. They barely talk the talk, let alone walk the walk.

still, I’d take a president who gets his aggressions out on squirrels over one who takes them out on Americans.
@2 – I bacon that.
