Mostly this is just about innocent fun and nostalgia, so enjoy that part. The focus point of the piece comes at the end and is actually pretty minor, almost incidental, compared to the broader point of being young and happy.
[Summer ’78 – A Short Film] (Viewer #86,711)

I mostly just froze my Han Solo in a cup of water in the freezer. Sometimes with a string attached. That way I could swing him around and smash the ice against a tree. Hm, I guess that was after Empire Strikes Back.
I never played Star Wars when I was a kid.
But I was obsessed with playing GI Joe.
And I filmed it too, just like Jeffrey Jacob. It involved lots of Mighty Mites and those awesomely disposable Cobra Flight Pods that would shatter into a million pieces when thrown against anything.
I would take my brothers StarWar toys outback and shoot at them.
Nice Chevelle
All I remember playing with is rocks, sticks and dirt.
My son is 4 and I love watching him use his imagination when he plays (I sometimes participate too…cause…you know…engaged father, yeah that’s it).
Yeah, so, um, no pressure Jeff Abrams.
