I find the US Constitution and the Bible are very much alike: People too often interpret and willfully misinterpret certain parts to their will, ignore certain parts they dislike, there are parts which overrule previous parts (the New Covenant/18th and 21st amendments), social context is often ignored to criticize it (in the Constitution’s case, the factors surrounding the 3/5ths compromise)…

At least the Bible has the excuse of being stitched together from several sources produced over many years, inconsistencies certainly sneak in but the Constitution, while the product of several contributors, was written over a short period of time and agreed to by vote.They both do share the same problem which is that people change and don’t like to have to live by rules that stop them from just doing what they want.
