“All men are created equal” is unprovable, but principles like that are what you need a country to be based on to give it strength.
If you actually tried to base policy on “evidence” or science, history shows you’d have an extremely bipolar government.
People can be horrible when they’re sure religion proves them right, but wait until you have those who are sure “science” proves them right.
Avatar is the sort of movie you’d expect from someone who is a fan of the Star Wars prequels.
If everything in life had a linux command line I could easily access, I would be unstoppable.
I find I’m a bit more attentive with my children if I keep track of the hours I spend with them so I can bill them when they’re older.
Netflix raised my rates from $7.99 to $9.99. Don’t tell them, but it’s worth way more than that to me.
It almost seems like those Hellmans mayo squeeze bottles are specifically designed such that a third of the mayo never escapes the bottle.
For a country founded by the average man rising up against an oppressive government, we sure have an obsession about not giving up our guns.
America has a stark choice this election year between an incompetent crook and an idiot clown. Make sure you vote.
This would be a great year for some sort of candidate who is for both liberty and the rule of law. That would be neat.
“Trump 2016: A broken man for a broken system”
Don’t promise me tax cuts or a booming economy. Promise me politicians and bureaucrats in prison.
Hillary could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and while she might lose voters, she wouldn’t be prosecuted.
Is this what “Purge: Election Year” is about? “During the election year, for politicians all crime is legal.”
If the Founding Fathers who wrote the 2nd Amendment saw the guns legal in the U.S. now, they’d think we’re hella cool and give us high fives.

If the Founding Fathers who wrote the 2nd Amendment saw that the guns of the rulers were select fire/full automatic, and thus denied to most commoners, they would have the armories thrown open and the contents distributed to the States. Because they’d done that before and it worked fine for 150 years or so.
but wait until you have those who are sure “science” proves them right.
We don’t have to wait, we have global warmmongers.
Of course, they’re using Science! not “science”.
I just wish they used science.
The great thing about this quip is that it works for both the Cameron and Shamylan Avatar movies.
“Is this what ‘Purge: Election Year’ is about? ‘During the election year, for politicians all crime is legal.’ “
That is a deft twist on the way the trailers portray it as an anti-Trump film (by using the motto “Make America Great”).
The all “crime is legal” screams Hillary! and both parties.
“All men are created equal” is unprovable, but principles like that are what you need a country to be based on to give it strength.
George Mason, who Jefferson drew upon, stated “all men are born equally free,” and hold “certain inherent natural rights, of which they cannot, by any compact, deprive or divest their posterity.” These rights called “freeborn rights” by Oliver Cromwell, which he defined as being rights that every human being is born with, as opposed to rights bestowed by government or by human law, as the epitome of philosophical constructs concerning humanity. unless you want to prove abstract thought does not exist these rights do.
People are born with the “Right” to be equally “free” as anyone else born. The question is not whether that is provable, but whether you can disprove it and produce a better world in the process.
Walrus, that is the most righteous thing you’ve ever said here. Five Stars / Pounds of Bacon.
America has a stark choice this election year between an incompetent crook and an idiot clown. Make sure you vote.
If we can only tell which is which.
Hillary could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and while she might lose voters…
Not only would she not lose any, she’d get even more.(Deadbeats and criminals would vote for her 5 times instead of the usual 2 or 3)
“Trump 2016: A broken man for a broken system”
Is that your slogan, Frank?
“This would be a great year for some sort of candidate who is for both liberty and the rule of law. That would be neat.”
Yes it would, even the Libertarian Party selected an a would be tyrant for its candidate.
In the end the government is always there and everybody wants to drive it.
