No. Tolerance, yes. That is what American values and virtue call us to strive for but “acceptance” is a step further and where liberalism goes off the rails. Tolerance can be achieved, acceptance [and why stop there and not require love and participation?] has to be voluntary and will come, or not, as it will. Most of the frustration on the Left in this regard is the desperate NEED to be LOVED only on their terms and whether the other wants to or not. They can never truly succeed, especially since any success must come by threat of violence either explicitly or implicitly. They have forgone the Tolerance route which could succeed and have chosen the other route which seems to offer the faster path but which only creates the cracks and faults that will lead to it’s own failure.
You have to accept that our goal is for everyone to be equally poor and you must tolerate the people who want to kill you if you don’t believe what they believe.
And you have to tolerate Muslim terrorists too.
Rest will not be accepted or tolerated!
