  1. Yesterday, we celebrated Mozart’s birthday. I hope that you capped off your celebrations with a little night music, if you know what I mean and I think you do. Today is Arthur Rubinstein’s birthday. He was born in Lodz, Polan, January 28, 1887, and was one of the great pianists, and also rather a horndog. He is most often associated with Chopin’s music; here he is, playing Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat, Op. 9, No. 2, which was the theme song for a band leader named Eddy Duchin quite some time ago. It’s a great tune:
