Texas grandfather was wrongly ID’d as Sunglass Hut robber by facial recognition technology and GANG-RAPED after being jailed for crime that took place while he was in California, lawsuit claims
UK Daily Mail | 1/25/2024 | Mackenzie TatananniMurphy, a grandfather who grew up in Texas, was in Sacramento, California, when two armed men stormed into the Sunglass Hut on West Gray in Houston.
During the investigation, officers received a call from Anthony Pfleger, the head of loss prevention for EssilorLuxottica. Pfleger said he worked with Macy’s loss prevention to determine that the person who robbed the store was Murphy.
‘Using artificial intelligence and facial recognition software, EssilorLuxottica and Macy’s took the video from the robbery and determined that Murphy was the robber,’ the lawsuit states. ‘The video was recorded by Kimco’s poor low-quality cameras.’

Errr, he couldn’t make bail? Be that as it may I think a huge lawsuit against a bunch of people is more than warranted here.
Sounds like a major pain in the rear for Mr. Murphy.
I hope he loudy, frequently, and odiferously, to quote Shakespeare, “sounds his trumpet” any time he is in court or a lawyers office as a reminder of what happened to him.
