12 Facts About Japanese Internment in the United States

Part of me doesn’t like this list, because none of the included “facts” are in support of internment camps, and these camps were NOT arbitrary or unjustifiable.

On the other hand, I’d like to make a very big deal of pointing out that it was a Democrat President who decided that rights are optional.

Funny how no one’s saying “Trump is just like FDR!” instead of always comparing him to that German guy.

  1. A bit of trivia — J. Edgar Hoover was opposed to interning Japanese U.S. citizens.

“Hoover opposed the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II, telling his bureu chief in San Francisco that ‘the Army was getting a bit hysterical,’ and describing the evacuation as being ‘extremely unfortunate.’ “

  2. The Black Tom explosion in World War I could have been on some people’s minds. That was an ammunition factory explosion in (or near) New York harbor that damaged the Statue of Liberty. It was done by German spies.
