I hope Mike Lupica gets added to this list. I was a big fan of the late Robert B. Parker (author of the Spenser and Jesse Stone thrillers), and Lupica is the writer who had taken over Parker’s series of novels about Sunny Randall, a female p.i. I hardly got to page 3 and Sunny makes an anti-Trump joke. I’m not so much concerned about Trump (he seems to be doing okay despite the enmity of the Hive), but the needless virtue-signaling. “Hey, I’m one of the enlightened people like you who hate Trump!”
