NYT Nobel Laureate Gets a History Lesson After Wondering Why ‘”God Save the King” Was Played at the Inauguration
PJ Media | January 21, 2021 | Victoria Soon-To-Be-Blacklisted Taft

After praising the new American king taking his throne as a return to Democrat normalcy, where peace, justice, diversity, and Janet Yellen would reign, the worldly Nobel Laureate detected a sour note to the proceedings:

Band playing God Save the King? Not exactly appropriate.

♩♪

My country ’tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty
Of thee I sing
Land where my fathers died
Land of the Pilgrim’s pride
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!

♩♪

Aha. Forgot there are Americanized lyrics. I guess I’ve spent too much time Over There over the years.

  1. Just to clarify, Nobel Prizes are awarded in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace. Krugman received the “Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.” It was established in 1968. This is kind of like if Oscar Mayer gave away free hot dogs and the recipients called themselves Oscar winners.

  2. Hey, Paul! When I was ‘over there’ in the Military, I heard the Brit’s playing the tune, but I was singing the AMERICAN VERSION! Just like every good old Minuteman raised in the RED, WHITE, and BLUE!

I love my British cousins… but I never passed up a chance to remind them who Kicked who’s Ass!

  3. Never gender
    Man,woman, furry
    Never royal
    Favor to curry
    Just assume
    Wokeness is surer
    The rule today
    By fledgling Fuhrer
