    • California Teacher Placed On Leave After Questioning School Walkout

California high school history teacher Julianne Benzel is on paid suspension after engaging her students in a discussion where she shared her perspective on the politics of organized protests in anticipation of the National School Walkout, which took place on the morning of March 14.

“We had a dialogue in class about it in Thursday and Friday. And today I received the call. So I am aghast,” Benzel told CBS Sacramento.

Benzel said that she questioned her students as to the appropriateness of schools sanctioning a protest against gun violence and whether the school administration was willing to allow protests for other causes, but she noted that she never discouraged her pupils from taking part in the walkout.

“If you’re going to allow students to walk up and get out of class without penalty then you have to allow any group of students that wants to protest,” Benzel said.

“And so I just kind of used the example which I know it’s really controversial, but I know it was the best example I thought of at the time,” Benzel told CBS Sacramento.

“[If] a group of students nationwide, or even locally, decided ‘I want to walk out of school for 17 minutes’ and go in the quad area and protest abortion, would that be allowed by our administration?”

According to Benzel, her students understood the purpose of her discussion, but on Wednesday, she received notification that she was being placed on leave.

    • Going to the Gun Range With Family Got These Students Suspended From School

Here’s an outrageous story to end the week.

A pair of students in New Jersey were reportedly suspended, one for an entire school week, after officials saw they went to the gun range with family and posted a photo of the outing on social media. From NJ.com:

A New Jersey school district that allegedly suspended two high school students this week over a gun photo taken during a family visit to a private shooting range is facing community backlash and the threat of a lawsuit over district policies.

The photo of four rifles, ammunition clips and a gun duffel bag was shared by one of the students on the social media app Snapchat with the caption “fun day at the range,” according to Lacey Township resident Amanda Buron, a family friend of one of the students.

A screen capture of the image made the rounds among other students and later brought to the attention of Lacey Township High School officials. Buron said the students received a five-day in-school suspension for violating the school’s policy on weapons possession.

Not only do tyrannical, leftist school administrators believe constitutional rights end once students step onto campus, they apparently also believe they shouldn’t be exercised freely outside of school jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, while the majority of media focused on high school students who walked out of schools in favor of additional gun control measures this week, a number of students around the country refused to leave their classrooms and held pro-Second Amendment rallies.

One student in Minnesota made a sign that read, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people, we all mourn together,” and was was threatened with arrest by administrators.

  2. I doubt that we’ll ever have a second civil war. Not because it’s not possible…it’s very possible. However, due to our spending habits, and lack of fiscal restraint, I believe that this country is going to go bankrupt in the very near future long before we have a civil war. When we do it’ll effect everyone…rich and poor, left and right, young and old. In fact it will effect the entire world. Quite frankly it’s doubtful we’ll have the energy or the inclination to have a full blown civil war when our money is worthless and people will be more worried about their next meal than being politically correct.

    • Let’s say (for the sake of argument) we ever do have a civil war, look for the Left to appeal to the UN for assistance and for the UN to send in forces to support our leftist government. I would expect to see Chinese, Russian, Iranian, and North Korean troops being used by the UN to subdue the non-leftist Normal People and non-leftist forces/rebels of this nation. Yes we Normal People are well armed and we should stay that way but that is no guarantee we can maintain our freedom once our enemies are given an excuse to place military forces in this country. And don’t look for any help from Western Europe as they are completely self-serving, and untrustworthy and in any case would not want to upset the Russians. As I said I really don’t think this is something to worry about as we’ll go bankrupt before it can actually happen.

      • It would depend upon who the rebels are, won’t it? If it is the left, like California, seceding and starting it then the Right would still be official government so would be able to veto anything at the UN. If the other nations still intercede then it goes from a civil war to a world war with all that mess would entail. If it is the right rebelling you might be correct but it will really still come down to how the armed forces break on the issue.

          • You are absolutely correct…they called themselves Peace Democrats. Everyone else called them “Copper Heads” after the poisonous snake of the same name. They were never successful at crippling this nations military efforts until a hundred years later during the Vietnam war.
