I’m curious as to how the presumptive President-elect will proceed. So far, I’m not impressed. But he’s not out to impress me.
I do wonder if he’ll be claiming a mandate, though.

If these idiots stake their claim on sweeping mandate against conservatism because we are too conservative, they are not only delusional, they’re also foolish.
We lost because we aren’t conservative enough! The big-C Conservative base doesn’t want those old f***ers reaching across the aisle and working with the enemy. We want them to b**** slap the libs and treat them like the insolent children they are.
BHO ran for class president on a campaign where he promised all the kids ice cream. What class is going to elect the guy that promises more study time so that the students can get better grades then buy their own damn ice cream?
If they think they have a mandate, they can come by my house and I’ll show it to them. They’ll be looking down a .45-inch tube with a surprise at the end.

Damn. We are so much better than you losers. Of course Obama has a mandate. We kicked your ass in the white house, senate and house. Obama even won a slot in Nebraska and took Indiana and North Carolina. That’s right aholes – Indiana is now BLUE and full of doods who want to look their best. You are losers all of you. Lazy, whiney losers. All you do is whine. You never work out or use products to make yourself look better. We are tired of your attitude. Obama wants people to work out, look good and read a lot and that’s what is going to happen. No more of this lazy Limbaugh and Fred Thompson attitudes. I’m proud to be in the “minority” of those who did not partake of the kool aid, candy, or ice cream doled out by the false prophet. And while I definitely do not feel United, I do feel American. Given time, the truth will fly in friendly skies again.

The Big Sort over at Slate has a good column on the ‘unity’ of the USA.
Bottom line is: Divided as ever. Obama was smarter than previous Dem candidates at spotting his guys in the red states and brought them out more. General shift to the Democrats in most areas, which the Republicans can probably reverse. Big shift in the youth vote, which will only matter if the Dems can keep them coming to the polling booth. Big shift in the Hispanic vote, and that’s genuinely something for conservatives to sweat about.
