Jimmy Carter, failure given human form, has now said that the Revolutionary War was unnecessary.
Was this guy really elected president… during the COLD WAR?! Far as I heard, his only real accomplisment of note was getting Ronald Reagan elected.
That’s it. America needs to demand its presidents have some micron of respectability. While we work on ways to honor Reagan’s legacy, we should also be working on ways to dishonor Carter. I say we strike him from the record books. His portrait and name should be removed from all lists of presidents, and, if he is ever to be referred to, he shall be called “the failed president who has no name.”
Carter should then have a mask of iron placed on him and be locked away in some tower where no one can hear his cries of, “I’m Jimmah Cahtah!”
The American presidency is a profound undertaking, and failure with it should be punished severely.

It’s decided: he really WAS a communist agent
Kind of like “Judge Dredd.”
And if anyone says, “First!!,” I’m going to reach through your monitor and smack you. Let’s have just 1 thread without that! Wait…too late…dang.
Nancy had the foresight to lock Ronnie away when he went senile and forgetful.
Sadly, nobody is doing that for Jimmy.
The revolutionary war comment doesn’t bother me; he’s correct, he just worded it poorly.
However, the “bloodiest war” line is unforgiveable.
…one thing to add though. If there had not been a war in the 1770s, there would’ve been one in the 1820s when the Brits outlawed slavery. In either case, though, blood was going to be spilled.
Let’s go the full H.P. Lovecraft route and call him “the thing that should not be named.” Or maybe “That which should not have been president”. But I prefer the simpler construction, “Dumbass.”
In fact, we could edit all of his TV speeches so they begin with “Good evening, I’m a dumbass.” That way, you can dismiss his stupid ideas with “well, he’s a dumbass, what’d you expect?”
THEY CALL ME PASTABAGEL
hell yes!
I read that post last night over on LGF and thought to myself out loud, “How big a of a pacifist do you have to be to not even be in favor of independence. To be satisfied as a subject of a king rather than a citizen of a soveriegn nation.”
I was and am appalled, to say the least.
Umm….first of all, the Civil War was by far “the most bloody war we’ve fought.”
Second, Canada and India are not as “free” as you think.
Mr. B-
Not only are they not as free as you think, but if you read his comment, his implication is that the US is not.
“Sadly, nobody is doing that for Jimmy”
Reagan was waaaay out of office before his facilities faded. Carter went senile before he was elected.
So when would they have given us our independance 1900? Of the three countries he list Canada got their independance first in 1867! Austrialia 1901 and India 1947.
See my blog, Fritz’s Thoughts , for more thoughts on this
“If the british parliment were open to the concerns of the colonies…”
This is a meaningless statement from a meaningless man.
“If Saddam Hussein had the personality of Mother Teresa, the war could have been avoided.” , and, “If there was no evil in the world anywhere, war would not be neccessary.” Gee, I can dream too, but I would dream for a pony.
He should have stuck to building houses. At least then he had the appearance of credibility. Now he’s just an icky old man (did you read the “lusty” excerpt from his new book? ew)
“…the Revolutionary War, more than any other war up until recently, has been the most bloody war we’ve fought…”
Did anybody else notice the “until recently”??? You don’t think he’s trying to make the case that Iraq is “the most bloody war we’ve [ever] fought” do you???
That by itself would rank right up there with the Revolutionary war being “unnecessary”.
Of course, it’s hard to top his recent complaints that the Republicans are trying to steal the vote in Florida “because they’re allowing Ralph Nader on the ballot”…
You people are way too hard on nice people, I wonder if Dubya will ever win a peace prize, and darn you vtwin, I was blaming that disease for all of those times that Reagan had no independent recollection of those events during the iran-contra scandal, now you are saying he was out of touch or lying?? By the way according to the San Diego Union Tribune this morning Iran backs George W. Bush for president, I guess he has the support of the axis of evil.
Yay, I get to be the first to say it:
“Jimmy Carter? He’s history’s greatest monster!”
Unreal
beo, you took the words right out, er, off of my screen. the brits saw what a bunch of rag-tag colonists could do if when they really wanted their freedom, and they were smart enough to not go through it again.
Damnanda est memoria!
Oh, and Patrick, Iran is trying to use reverse psychology to trick people into voting for John Kerry. The Mad Mullahs know full well that a second term for Bush means they’re toast.
I think Frank you refer to “Damnatio memoriae” that the Romans practiced on several of its emperors. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damnatio_memoriae .
It’s too bad there is no sense of decency or justice.
Otherwise, Carter, Clinton and Kerry would be recognized as the true villains they are.
Abetted by Daschle, Harkin and most of all Teddy Kennedy and others, these few selfish people are responsible for untold suffering in the world and miniscule amount of good.
It makes one hope and pray that there is a greater power to bring things into balance for the sake of those corrupted souls.

Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Carter … what an assmonkey.
Democracy – two wolves and a sheep voting on what to eat.
Liberty – the well armed sheep contests the vote.
This is a blatent example of the failure of pacifism. The tree of liberty is fed by the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Liberty is has no place in the Kerry, Clinton, Carteresq world.
Patrick-
you’re kidding, right? RIGHT?
Geez, as if we didn’t need more scientific proof that growing and/or eating peanuts doesn’t adversely affect the human brain…
Dammit! Somone lock his ass in a nursing home already!!
“…we should also be working on ways to dishonor Carter.”
Unnecessary. He’s doing just fine on that score all by himself.
Violence was also involved in Canada’s Independence. There were rebellions in 1837 and 1838 which, although put down, led to a new governor and reforms which led in turn to independence.
One wonders if the experience of the American Revolution led the British to give up easily on the Canucks so as to avoid another conflagration.
Hence, Carter’s statement could be even more wrong, in that the violence of the American Revolution may have rendered the Canadian and Indian experiences more peaceful.
does anyone remember the Carter doctrine? war against the soviets in europe if they move closer to the middle east oil fields after the invasion of afghanistan. to fight them anywhere is to fight them everywhere. all 18 yr olds can thank jimmah for the present draft registration system.
a student’s foresight was better than that president’s hindsight (me). after writing just 3 pages as if i were advising the politburo it was obvious to me that they were going to make the move. jimmah was shocked and tried to act like a hawk for the rest of his lame duck days. it would have been funny if it happened to some lame ass country like france, but it was a sad experience. thank God for that hockey team. U-S-A U-S-A
Personally, I think that Carter is doing his darndest to make Lyndon LaRouche look like a credible, thoughtful presidential candidate in comparison to him. I’m just praying Jimmuh doesn’t start acting out those “nude conspiracy” theories. Blechhy!
Never mind the mindnumbing whale dung that keeps leaking out the hole in his head….
Does anyone else think Carter looks like a giant unshelled sea turtle? Add in that he purportedly served on a submarine, and the obvious Carter/Aquaman “kelpbed of evil” conclusion can be drawn.
Well now. I have a Masters Degree in Military Studies. The title of my thesis was -Lost Opportunity: British Military Commanders Confront the Challenges of Pacification in the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, 1778- 1782. I know a little about the subject.
Jimmy Carter is correct. The British could have avoided a revolution if they had given the Colonies what they wanted -independence (remember that Declaration thing. Sooo…. if we give the insurgent/anti-coalition forces/terrorists/guerillas etc. what they want , we too can avoid(or could have avoided) violence -in the short term. There is where the similarity falls apart – the Americans only wanted to be left alone- Usama wants to kill us all.
There are some interesting correlations between the Southern Campaign and Iraq.
Bottom line, the British lost (the entire war) because they could not sustain a large Army in hostile territory while fighting a determine guerilla and conventional threat.
I know I’m boring you – so last, Carter just wrote a novel about the Southern Campaign. I read it – add novelist to things he isn’t any good at. Cheers.
What, Carter said something else stupid?????
Am I surprised? Not really.
What would surprise me? Jimmy saying something insightful, and helpful to America’s current difficulties.
Or…a cohort of ninja monkeys flying out of his butt.
I think I know which one I’ll see first.
I think some of are being too nice in excusing his comments as a product of senility. He has been actively working against U.S. interests for decades. While he is more blatent during Republican administrations he frequently undermined Clinton’s foreign policy. Only reason I won’t piss on his grave is after I got out of the Navy I swore I wouldn’t stand in line anymore.
It is so funny (Or pathetic) to look at the last two Republican presidents (Reagan and Bush Senior) and what they did after they served in office, and then look at the last two Democratic presidents (Billy and Jimmy) and see what the differences are.
Both Jimmy and Billy have been behaiving like total buffoons, trying to deface Bush at every turn, Billy boy couldn’t keep his trap shut for more than what, a week or whatever? Jimmy has been also been a total idiot – and continues along that same path.
He needs to be sent to Cuba, the People’s Paradise, his U.S. Citizenship status should be revoked, and he should wonder at the marvels of communism. He was the frist U.S. president to visit there in how many years?
What a loon.
What would the world be like today if Jimmy had had a nutsack back in ’80?
The day the American Embassy in Tehran was overran.
JC picks up the ol’ red phone: Hello, Leonid. (Breshnef may have died by then, I can’t remember)
LB: Yo homes whaddup?
JC: Listen, these darned Iranians have invaded our embasy and taken all our folks over there hostage. I guess maybe you saw on the tv or read ’bout it in the paper.
LB: Shonuff.
JC: Well listen, I don’t know what ya’lls missile detection equipment is capable of or anything, but if you happen to notice a launch from the middle of the Mediteranean Sea or even the Indian Ocean, don’t get your undies all wadded up you heah. It ain’t about you is all I’m sayin’.
LB: I be witchu big papa. We tryin’ to destablize the region fo real, but I’m not schemin’ to trade Moscow or Lenningrad for a bunch of ragheads you dig.
JC: ‘ppreciatecha Leonid, we’ll talk later.
Ten minutes later.
JC on another secure line: Mr Ayatolla we need to talk.
AK: Death to you Satan.
JC: OK whatever, but listen, I’m not sure what your biggest city other than Tehran is, cause it’s really not that important to me, but it’s gonna be called Hiroshima 24 hours from now if you don’t get all them dadgummed clowns out of our Embassy, and turn loose all our folks. Are you hearin me good?
AK: You wouldn’t dare.
JC: Then 48 hours from now, if you haven’t complied, we’ll rename another of your cities Nagasaki. I’ts not like we only have one nuke you know.
AK: OK. Do you have a preference as far as hiring a cleaning service is concerned? We’ll pick up the bill of course.
What would the world look like today?
I agree that Carter is and always was a sorry excuse for president who had, and still has no backbone. But the worst president in my lifetime and the one that for some inexplickable reason does not get the condomnation he deserves was LBJ. If he had tried to actualy win the vietnam war instead of just prolonging it so that his wife’s shipping intrests could make a fortune, this would be a much better world today. May he and Lady Bird Rot in Hell !
so, jimmah thinks the revolutionary war was unnecessary.
there’s a war right around the corner that’s likely unavoidable, and it is in great part thanks to Jimmy himself.
would you prefer war against iran before or after a nuke strike? your vote nov 2 will decide.
Who was it that said something about “may your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen”?
vtwin I’m kidding left, left, left…and thank you spetiam for pointing out that one idea of many that supports that notion. Many of the others in that article do not and if you are a conspiracy theorist then Rush Limbaugh says you must become a democrat, because we are the party of conspiracy theorists.
This is one of those things being blown way out of proportion, now I dont like liberals as much as any but carter is just saying that the brits screwed up and should have tried diplomacy as a very, very bad example against the war in Iraq. This has just been blown way out of proportion by the media.
I just think we should point at him and laugh until he goes away. And he will, finally. I remember the misery index. Mine goes up whenever he appears on TV or I hear his voice.

Skuggy…nothing insulting Jimmy Carter can possibly be blown out of proportion as his anti-Americanism would actually hvae gone back to the revolution if there were time travel. He has done nothing since he was voted out of office but travel to other countries to degrade, dishonor and disgrace our country. My thought is that he singlehandedly has been responsible for more hatred toward the United States than Osama. Nobel Peace Prize…he should have been hung for treason.
Bikermommy – apologies in adavance for my being a smartpinkytoe, but you made a grammatical construction that always jumps out at me due to its wide proliferation.
“Jimmy Carter should have been hanged for treason.”
Past tense of “hang” is “hung” when referring to anything other than execution by rope swingin’. But when ol’ Jimmah swings by his neck, it’s because he’s been “hanged.” It works as a passive verb (“Jimmah was hanged for treason,”) or a transitive verb (“The angry crowd couldn’t stand Jimmah’s nonsensical raving any longer, so they took him out and hanged him.”)
I can’t forgive myself for at one time thinking Jimmah was just a niave Christian Baptist that didn’t mean any harm. I forget that democrats are never anything but those trying to ruin our country. For the life of me I can’t figure out how so many good people think they are on the right side of life and call themselves democrats. To me it’s pure and simple. If you vote for someone who believes in abortion, you therefore must believe in killing babbies and that will bring you nothing but burning in hell forever. The Bible is oh so clear on that. Regards!
How about: “The President formerly known as Carter”?
Are you sure that wasn’t Janet Reno in drag? Notice how you never see those two together?
