On a More Serious Note

Just got a call from my borther, Joe foo’ the Marine, in Iraq. That reminds me, I forgot to thank whoever it was who directed me to motomail.us. Anyway, he says he is getting a lot done, morale is great, and he’s happy to be there (most of the time). Please keep him in your prayers.
Also, the pope seems to be in a pretty bad condition. I know he’ll stay here and do what he can as long as he is able, so I wouldn’t count him out just yet. Please pray for a good man who has fully devoted his life to the betterment of mankind.
On a lighter note, I got Sydney back from the vet from being spayed. She was hissing and clawing at everyone, and they had to use gloves to give her to me. She was happy to see her daddy though. Minerva, on the other hand, keeps hissing and spitting at her because she smells like the vet’s office.
Dumb cats.

  1. oh yeah, the best was when we took both kitties to be boarded. The vet asked if they liked each other and would it be okay to put them in a double. (two cages, side by side with a little door in between) we’re like Sure! they love each other and snuggle all the time. well, they got one in a cage and then they both acted like they’d never seen each other before and were growling and yelling before the second cat even got in. i felt soooo embarassed. sorry abou the ramble, just cats go nuts at the vet, unless they live there.

    1. Actually he is taken on eagle’s wings. All things considered, going to heaven in an F-15 doesn’t sound all that bad.
    2. There’s always somebody jumping the gun on a deathwatch.
    3. It is unlikely that the new majority rule will be enacted this time around. Most of the cardinals were elevated by Pope John Paul II, and he smacked down those wussy Liberation Theology (Leftist, possibly French) Jesuits.
  2. frank, would your brother like to be added to a “care package” list? we send boxes to troops about once a month – goodies and such. please shoot me an email if you think he would like to receive some boxes from some appreciative little kids in Chicago. and the pope is in the nightly prayers of those same little kids!

  3. Well, I’ll tell you what… the Pope can’t do any better than with prayers from kids. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Godspeed on your journey John Paul, & may the Lord give you an exaulted place among the angels. You have lived your life well, & much to the benefit of others.

  4. Upon his arrival home I feel sure that John Paul II fully expects to greeted by the voice of his Lord and Master, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Hurry home Karol Wojtyla, your Master has work for you to do there and you are needed.

After so many months of being in the company of the lovely and talented SarahK (Who’s a real cat person)
You should know by now, that ALL cats HATE the Bad Place (The Vet’s) It’s well meaning doctors and all of its icky smells. Plus the humans (Though only for a short time) who take them there.
Just let Sydney get re-situated and re-oriented. Though, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if both Sydney and Minerva decide to double team and torment you through the next few nights.
    Jack.
