I Guess He Needs a Better Call Screener

Called into The Rush Limbaugh Show and am waiting to go on right now to talk about Bob Geldof…
UPDATE: I guess that was it; well, there I was on Rush’s show. Anyway, the audio from the conference call with Bob Gledof is now available, so I recommend checking it out (you get to hear me there too, and not quite as nervous because I had no idea who Geldof was).
UPDATE2: Anyone know how I can get a recording of that for posterity’s sake? Someone wouldn’t happen to be a Rush 24/7 subscriber and get the podcast, huh?
UPDATE3: Have the call as an mp3 thanks to Master Shake. Will see about making it available for the curious.

  1. OK, if I ever get thru and on the air w/Rush, I’ll promote you. (I can promise this ’cause I know full well that I’ll be so nervous that I’ll forget why I called the show, and just stammer uh..uh..uh…)
    Nice suprise to hear you!

  2. heh… I was wondering if in the 10 minutes it took me to drive from the gym after hearing your call if there would be a post. I should have known. And here you missed the golden opportunity to inform the world of the evils of puppy blending! Great to hear you though, Frank.

  3. I finally got to hear the voice of Frank J.! (I can’t listen to podcasts because I don’t have sound at work, & I have a 26.4 connection at home, on a good day.)
Don’t worry, Frank, I’m sure your voice will deepen after…..um, the honeymoon.

  4. C’mon, Frank! You didn’t know who Bob Geldof was? The Wall? Band Aid? We Are the World? Named his kid Fifi Trixibelle? Where were you in 1984 during Live Aid? Wait… weren’t you like 5 or something?
    I feel so old now.

  5. As I was out in the garden pulling weeds and listening to Rush, I heard him introduce a guy named [unintelligible] from Melbourne, FL, who offers blogger-dittos.
So I immediately asked myself: Self, I wonder if that’s FrankJ?
And lo and behold, it was. I recognized your voice right off. Yeah, you sounded a little nervous, and not at all funny. I’m not holding the “not funny” part against you, as it would have been inappropriate on his show, not to mention difficult to pull off. You did enlighten Rush that Geldof wasn’t quite the Africa-aid simpleton that Rush was painting him as.
So, not only are you Ruler of the Blogdodecahedron, but you make the Rush show.
    ::bows deeply::

  6. You guys are acting like Frank making Rush’s show is a big deal. I think that Rush was luck to talk with Frank! How’s that for kissing a little Overloard Ass?

  7. I am just shocked and saddened that I actually thought, “Was that Frank? No, it couldn’t possibly…”
Now I get home from work to find that I am a true IMAO geek. I actually had a rush of excitement at the possibility. (no pun intended)
    Way to go, Frank!!

  8. I just sent Frank an MP3 of his call from Rush’s podcast – hopefully, his e-mail system can handle a 3MB attachment.
I’ll let him decide whether he wants to be sued for making it available to others (not that Rush would dare sue the Ruler of the Blogododecahedron)….

  9. I’m scanning through his show on 24/7 right now to find your call, Frank. Luckily, Windows Media Player has this “fast speed” playback thing so I don’t have to sit through three hours of this..not that I would mind, it’s just almost midnight.

  10. If we can get permission from Limbaugh’s production team, we will make the audio of Frank’s call available ONLY IN THE JUNE 13 IMAO PODCAST.
As sweet li’l Sarah would sing: “Yee-haw!”

  11. holy cow!
I heard all of Rush today, heard your call, but had no idea it was you until just now when I caught up on all my blog reading.
Congrats on getting through… I’ve been trying unsuccessfully for years (although I get through to Lars Larson once in a while).
