  1. I apologize for the threadjack, but I’m starting a blog of my own and I wanted to clarify some points of blogging etiquette.
I’m assuming that if you use an entire post from another blogger, as John occasionally does, you first gain permission from the author. However, what if you are simply quoting from another blog (for example “Getting rid of Tom DeLay is not about appeasing the Democrats, nor is it even ultimately about the bad publicity this indictment will bring before DeLay is eventually, in all liklihood, exonerated.” John Hawkins) Should you still get permission from the author, or is it fine if you simply provide a link back to the original post?
I’d appreciate any feedback on this matter, or other areas of blogging etiquette that might otherwise be overlooked.

  2. HAHAHAHAHA! I love those links to DU and Kos! Very encouraging! Thanks, Frank!
I really like how Kos started laying out the groundwork for what the dems should require for the next nomination, since obviously the DNC listened to his rants the first time =D

“Bring on the next Justice fight!”
Damn straight!!! I want to hear phrases like “Justice Bork,” not the name of some candy-assed “moderate”!. Time for Bush to find his pair and earn his spurs on domestic policy!

    Exactly!!
Even HW got Justice Thomas through, and he didn’t have both majorities in congress.

  5. Yeah, the usual suspects voted no. I suppose it’s a good thing that the ones who voted yes were mostly ones I’ve never heard of? (In terms of making the news, I mean…though I am surprised by the yes votes of Byrd, Leahy, Dodd, and Jeffords)
I guess it means that these Dems I’ve not seen in recent news have been too busy doing actual work to whore themselves out to the cameras the way that, for example, Durbin has.
