American Idol top 4 results

I don’t have a good feeling. I really think Chris is gone. Oh, but seriously. ALIAS DETOUR! I’m gonna get all caught up on my ALIAS snarkage real soon, because tonight’s episode is possibly the most snarkworthy EVER!!! (No, wait. Blowback from Season 3 can’t ever be beat, truth be told.) GHOST OF NADIA, THANK YOU J.J., I’M IN SNARKER’S HEAVEN! Can you tell what we just watched?
LOL, the Ford commercial (“Wonderful World”, our wedding last dance) reminds me of last week’s ALIAS, which I really need to snark, because the blatant Ford commercial where Nadia asked Jack about getting the Hybrid was even more blatant a Ford commercial than the Blowback one with the F-150 and the blue Focus. It’s so hilarious that I remember the cars (colors and everything!), so Ford is getting its money’s worth. Anyway, this AI commercial stunk.

Oh no. They’re doing a group medley. Of Elvis songs. Quick, turn off the amp! Nuh-uh. Go Kat Go, and she’s dancing all by herself on stage. I was already nauseous from my migraine meds. And Taylor has his Cap’n Tightpants on. And my goodness, Katharine. I’m starting to think she caught Taylor’s manic dance fever, and is there an artist who jumps up and down constantly? Because she caught that disease too. ‘NSYNC. She caught the J.C. Jumps. Poor girl.
Oh my goodness, that Rebecca Romijn thing where she requested “Jailhouse Rock” from Taylor. So staged. Taylor totally just got jiggy with Elliott’s mama. He owes Elliott dinner for that one.
Top two and bottom two. Chris/Katherine and Elliott/Taylor. Which is which? You know what Frank said? “Oh, if Taylor and Elliott are top two, then Dial Idol got it right again.” Ummmmmm. I don’t have any machines doing my work for me, so it’s WAY more impressive that I predicted it. That was all my smirts. No engineering involved. Thank you, I rock.
And Chris and Katharine are the bottom two. And Chris is going home, and the whole room is shocked.
Not me, because America has sucked so bad this season. Hello, Kellie Pickler got past Mandisa. Gedeon went home way before Scrappy Doo. How is Chris going before Katharine surprising?
Oh, about Katharine. Listen, I have big boobs too. Ok, average but as big as Katharine’s. In fact, I looked down tonight and went, “Wow, my boobs are big,” and Frank said, “Yes they are.” One of the great things about having a Dove body. Does that mean I’m more talented than Chris? Uh no. But you don’t see me up there in the top 3. Of course, I’ll be 30 soon, so I’m too old, but anyway. Yeehaw. What was I saying?
But listen. This is absolutely the best thing that could have happened to Chris. Why is he gone? Truly, why is he gone? Because he kept having to do pop. His fans want him to do what he does best, which is definitely not pop. When has he been in the bottom? Never when he rocked the house. Anyway, if he puts out an AI album, you know they’re gonna make him do pop, just like Bo. This way he’ll be able to do his style of music. Unless AI puts out his album anyway. Plus I rilly don’t think he’s gonna be stuck out with no music career. Bands will be calling, which is great, but he has his own band, and now they have all that 35 million strong publicity.
So I’m glad he’s out. I’m dancing to “Bad Day” as much as I did when Kellie’s gig was finally up, because this is gonna be so much better for him and for music fans. Whee!
But if Katharine isn’t gone next week (if you can’t tell, I’m totally out on her), I won’t Whee.

  1. I agree that Chris wasn’t able to stick his thing, which was obviously rock.
Another tough thing was that he always seemed to try to make it his own rock style, sometimes got a little boring and without variation.
But he will DEFINITELY be huge. He’s the rocker man for the next 5 years minimum.

  2. I wasn’t surprised simply because Chris was freakin’ boring, and week to week it really does matter how you perform. Yes, you have your devoted fans, but just like in politics it’s the undecideds who ultimately decide. And he was dull and uninteresting.
As to how well he’ll do: he’s under contract to the AI producers no matter what for a certain minimum time period. So he’s got to hope they’re good to him.

  3. Good riddance. A one-trick pony if I ever saw one. Elliot, on the other hand is versatile and has the best pipes by far, BUT, this isn’t just a singing competition is it? Taylor wins for sure.

  4. Chris didn’t deserve to go, but AI isn’t really his style. Make him a lead singer of some band, and he’ll do great. However, he’ll have to survive a year of AI tours before he can really shine. For example, I picked up Bo Bice’s CD… It sucked. His AI performances were awesome.
Kat is better than just her body. However, she is not a Pop singer either. She needs to move out of Hollywood and head to Broadway. She has a great musical voice, and she obviously likes to act and dance.
I can’t stand Elliot. He’s boring and hideous to me. I really didn’t like either of his songs Tuesday. It is true that Kat looks so much better than Elliot, but she doesn’t need boobs when Elliot is singing like the mule from HeeHaw. Really, who wants to see pursed lips with buck teeth singing on stage?
Sadly, I think Taylor wins the season. He’s far more entertaining then the other two. Unfortunately, I just can’t imagine a Taylor Album. Why buy his album when I can buy Time-Life Books’ various compilations of the 50’s – 80’s. He will probably be great on tour, but give him a Vegas show and be done with him.
I knew back when my favorites for winning AI were a Gospel singer or a Rocker that this season was going to suck. It has.

  5. I lost about all respect for Jack Bristow when he suddenly became an electric car ad. He did everything except turn and face the camera as he delivered his spiel.
He’s going to have to suddenly and unexpectedly shoot a lot of people in these last two episodes to win me back.

  6. That’s it. I’m out. I’ve seen enough. First they try to pussify Chris. Then they kick him off. Katharine McSuck and her stupid crying sessions deserved to be kicked off. This season quite nearly totally sucked (probably around 87%), and I don’t believe I’ll waste my time with it next year. Or ever again.

  7. What I cant get over is how talentless this season was/is. There were very few people who wernt pitchy dog every now and then. As we were watching the elvis medley, my wife turned to me about 3 songs into it and said, “this is kinda getting old”. Then they showed Simon and she said something about how Simon never seems amused. I said he probably is wondering if that’s all the talent left in America then we’re in trouble. Dont get me wrong, on some songs the ‘idols’ shine, but if I have to listen to Elliot’s fake vibratto much more then I think I’ll have to kill someone. Katherine butchers 90% of the songs and really only shone one week. Taylor should just quit trying to dance and really has a niche of making fun of himself (play that funky music… etc..) Oh… and it’s getto (pronounced geddo) not get toe. Maybe the finals will be rap which will be a great end to this subpar season!

  8. Kat certainly deserved to go. She is the most talented and will be the most successful but she is very erratic and was poor the last two weeks. She will be much better in a studio where she can do multiple takes and doesn’t have to dance. I say she sells more albums than the rest of the top 10 put together not counting Chris and Paris.
I just can’t imagine people spending their time and money on Taylor or Elliott albums or concerts.

  9. Glad to see Chris join Scott Savol, Diana DeGarmo et al.
The three remaining contestants compare pretty favorably with most of the finalists from past years – Carrie and Fantasia excepted.

  10. Even though I said I’d never watch again, I watched on Tuesday and yesterday. Kat is really pretty, and she’s got a good voice, but she really didn’t do well and she should have been sent home. The fiance and I argued over whether it should be her or Chris. He said it wasn’t fair to her to do Elvis songs. Lots of things aren’t fair. Another commenter said Chris was dull and uninteresting. I say that dull and uninteresting beats just plain bad any day in my book.
I really like Elliot’s voice and I’m glad he’s made it this far. I like Taylor because I find his freakish “dancing” cute and enduring, not obnoxious, but I can see how other people wouldn’t think so. I’m sorry to see Chris go, but I agree with Sarahk – I don’t think this will hurt his career at all.
