  1. Insaneclownronpaulfan?! Now you know one of the biggest hurdles would-be Paul supporters face: other Paul supporters.
Clowns? Bad. Insanity? Bad. Lump ’em in with Ron Paul, how is that supposed to be good? Is Ron Paul so good that he can neutralize insanity and clowns? (the same kind of clowns that killed Jack Handy’s dad?) I’m skeptical at best.

  2. Instead of space, we should fire it into low orbit so that it lands in Iran. I’d like to see how the mullahs explain 50 tons of molten gold raining from heaven, flattening their military installations and starting small dirt-fires.
Does Iran have mullahs? I assume so.

  3. While I am loathe to agree with Ron Paul on anything, his idea on backing the currency with specie does make sense and is an idea that has been espoused by economists like Steve Forbes, who is someone who clearly knows a little bit about money, capitalism and the economy.

  4. yup – Ron Paul and Steve Forbes. That would be a winning ticket.
Steve Forbes knows about business, not economics. There is a huge difference. If the dollar is backed by gold, all South Africa has to do to destroy the US is release a bunch into the market and we’re done for. Russia also has significant gold reserves.
What we should do is make gold bullets. Silver bullets kill vampires so gold bullets would probably kill SuperVampires and elephants which are even more evil.

  5. I have a better idea; take all that gold, and give it me for safekeeping. I’ll keep it to myself so no one has to worry about it. I make this sacrifice for all of you. It’s just the kind of guy I am.
Then lets shoot Ron Paul into space. Preferrably towards the sun.

  6. Hello there. Let us never forget that Ronald Reagan was also a firm believer in the gold standard. He believed that we must back our currency on the gold standard. Reagan believed to not do so would lead to our demise. If you have been following the dollar you can see that Reagan would have been disgusted by the Bush administration. Ronald Reagan would also have been disgusted by the people leaving anti-Ron Paul comments on this thread. You people seem to not know very much about anything and you certainly don’t seem to care at all about our currency. The weaker our dollar gets the more expensive our products get especially with all the one-sided “free trade” agreements the Bush administration has made – many of which are unfair to our workers here in the United States. There are many many issues where Ron Paul is wrong but this is not one of them. Fiscal conservatism is supposed to be something Republicans take seriously. It supposed to be a strength of the Republican party. You people are not Republicans. Please leave our good party and form your own.
RONALD REAGAN: “ANY GREAT NATION THAT GOES OFF THE GOLD STANDARD ENDS BEING A GREAT NATION.”

  7. Well, it costs anywhere from $2000-$8500 per pound to put that gold into low earth orbit. And gold is heavy. How much gold is in Fort Knox, anyway? Wouldn’t it just be easier, cheaper, and more fun to just sell the gold in Fort Knox, and give the money back to Americans? I could sure use the moeny.
