IMAO Reader Theater: “its a chris off…”

Chris (walkingdead) presents: “its a chris off…”, wherein he and Chris (websterglobe) have a… um… “polite discussion”… on the relative merits of Keith Olbermann.

Take a hippie-punch at fame by creating your own IMAO-worthy video at Xtranormal (“If you can type, you can make movies“). Send a link to harvolson-at-gmail.com and I’ll give it a look. If it isn’t obscene (IMAO is a PG-13 site) and it doesn’t suck too terribly bad, I’ll post it and let the readers throw roses and/or tomatoes at you.

There’s a Joke Here: IAEA

I had fun with this yesterday, so let’s try this again. BTW, my favorite from yesterday was from commenter Genghis Khan: “So, is it just me, or does it seem a bit redundant to note that a man with a Joe Biden obsession is mentally ill?”

Anywho, the International Atomic Energy Agency of the U.N. has finally said, “Hey, Iran might be working on nukes.” This is actually the first time the U.N. has said something along those lines, so my first reaction is when are they going to make statement of whether the sky is blue — which I don’t consider a joke but a starting point. Like maybe they could follow this with a statement that North Vietnam is thinking of invading South Vietnam; I’m still just spit-balling here.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure there is a good joke here. I’m thinking the best angle is on how late to the game the U.N. is on noticing the Iran nuclear threat — so basically my mind is working for stating in a very oblique manner that the U.N. is really late to making an obvious observation. Nothing good as sprung to mind yet. So have at it, and maybe you can think of a better angle.

Crazy Left-Wing Violence

So we had the crazed Obama-lover Amy Bishop go on a shoot spree and now some Bush-bashing, religion-bashing, Communist-quoter crashed a plane into an building. Do we have to fear left-wing violence?

Possibly.

I had assumed that if the liberals got majorities in the House and Senate and got the presidency, they might be a bit less hateful and angry all the time. We can now see what that’s wrong. Giving liberals power has just made it more obvious how much the American people reject them and their ideas. If they can’t get anything passed in the absolute best of conditions for them, they’re never going to get to enact their agenda. Not able to be introspective and take on the moron that resides inside, they instead lash out at everyone else as evil and racist. They think the whole country is filled with evil, stupid people plotting against them, and eventually comes the violence.

If liberals weren’t such a bunch of mincing sissies, we might actually have something to worry about. Still, many of them can at least bite off a finger which is no laughing matter. So use caution; they’re not very sane or rational, and they’re only going to get worse come November.

Curling Update: The Continued Tragedy

You know the Taliban and al Qaeda are watching the USA’s performance in curling, looking for weakness. And they must be celebrating in the streets over there. Four times now, the men’s team’s skip Shuster has had the a game winning shot where he just needed to place that last stone in the house to win the game, but to no avail. Statistically, we should have accidentally won by now, but here we are at 0-4. The women’s team hasn’t fared any better with a 0-3 record. I’m starting to wonder if we broke off of Great Britain too soon because it really doesn’t look like we have the skill to be our own self-respecting country.

We probably should treat curling more like Canada does. They take children when they are very young and train them in nothing but curling. These people are considered gods among the average Canadian and given the choicest maple syrup and moose meat. And when they are no longer able to compete in curling, they are shot in the head to make sure they can’t pass on Canadian curling secrets.

Time to take this game seriously before America loses all respect on the world stage. Of course, failure starts at the top, so maybe we’ll do better next Olympics if we have a different president.

Random Thoughts

Commenter to my PJM article mentions that Palin has been bought by people with “very large noses.” Clowns?

Anytime I use IE, I feel like I’m back to websurfing in the 90s.

“Yes, the economy is not better in any noticeable way, but look at this chart!”

I don’t remember us having all this trouble with curling when Bush was president.

So are we having a spate of left-wing violence? I would have thought an Obama win would make them less hateful and crazy. Of course, I easily see now why I was so wrong about that. Even I was susceptible to hopey changey nonsense, apparently.

Americans are smart; they’re getting all their curling losses out of the way so now they can focus just on winning.

It would really shake up male figure skating if they added a “masculinity” score.

Of course, you’d max out that score by not being in figure skating.
