One more last word…

Don’t you hate it when all is said and done, someone says something or does something anyway?

The Troy Davis case is like that. And it’s my turn. Again.

But, honestly, I think Frank has had his fill of this case, unless I read his Twitter posts incorrectly.

And maybe you have too. But, if not, I did post at my little blog.

I think Frank wants more teh funneh here. Let me see if I have anything from 1960s television to entertain you. More about that in a day or two.

  1. That’s okay, Basil, we’ve got crashing stock markets to keep us entertained this morning. And with any luck, we’ll all get a good laugh when the government shuts down on October 1. Plus, Barack and Mochelle are smooching in public again, so that’s good for a chuckle. Heck, the news this morning is just chock-full of yuk-yuk’s.

  2. Well, remember Basil, you’re not guilty until you’ve had a trial by a jury of your piers, so Troy Davis is still innocent until proven gu…oh wait, what?…he was?…and they’ve already appealed? How’d that go?…really?…umm…okay, never mind.

  3. Trying to bring “teh funneh,” I Googled “death penalty jokes,” and discovered that there really aren’t many worth repeating. Most of what Google dredged up are rants about how the death penalty is no joke, and it isn’t funny, and comedians should not be making jokes about it. Sigh. What ever happened to black humor? (That’s RAC!ST!!!)

  4. Read your piece, my sentiments exactly

I would submit that Davis’ case was less well known. The less the wider public knew about the case, the easier it was to protray Davis as innocent. Brewer’s crime was more notorious and far more henious. It is easier to argue the possible innocence of a case no one remembers.

Davis was an easier sell, however the lack of protest concerning Brewer shows the emptiness of the anti-death penalty crowd.
