Henry Arms AR7 Survival Rifle Kit

Everything you need is stuffed into the the stock:

When disassembled, the pieces fit inside the impact-resistant, waterproof stock, which will float should it take a trip overboard. Assembly is as easy as attaching the receiver to the stock, inserting the barrel and screwing on the barrel nut. In just a few seconds, without the need for any tools, the Henry U.S. Survival AR-7 is ready for action.

The Henry U.S. Survival AR-7 comes standard with a sturdy steel barrel covered in tough ABS plastic and then coated with Teflon for complete protection against corrosion. Plus, it’s engineered for perfect balance and the ability to maintain its tack-driving accuracy, even after thousands of rounds.

Neat kit! Someone brought one to the Range I go to. It is cool. And light weight. Military pilots had them in their plane’s ‘bug out’ bag. Better defense than a pistol. There’s a saying, ‘you use your pistol to get to your rifle’.

  2. I have one of these that I’ve heavily modified. Got rid of the butt-stock, designed a small adapter for it that allows any ar15 stock and an ar15 pistol grip to be attached. Also a hand-guard, with bipod, attached to the barrel, and a small tactical scope.
While it no longer stores into it’s own stock, the barrel (and hand-guard) still separates from the rest. With a collapsible ar15 stock, it will fit in a small case (2-pistol carry case)

  3. Who thinks that a 22 is a good idea for a survival rifle? Sorry, but you aren’t surviving a zombie apocalypse with no stinking 22. Someone needs to invent a collapsible, watertight .308 for real survival. 22. Pshaw!

  4. Keep in mind that while the stock may be “waterproof”, the butt plate is not “watertight” – it’ll float, for a while, even for a long while, then it will sink. Rain, dew, frost, and condensate will all get inside…

I had one for a while, found it difficult to shoot, then figured out that a Ruger 22/45 in a watertight pelican box was lighter, more accurate, easier to hide in plain sight, and, well, the AR-7 was traded for some other shiny thing that I wanted…

    YMMV.
